That's not smart farming. Mink are farmed for the fur. So my assumption would be: Kill them, harvest the fur early, cut your losses, and hope you don't loose all your stock. Through my reading it appears it is highly deadly to them and they quickly and easily pass it to humans. https://www.who.int/csr/don/06-november-2020-mink-associated-sars-cov2-denmark/en/ https://www.theatlantic.com/health/archive/2020/12/minks-pandemic/617476/ https://www.nbcnews.com/news/animal-news/here-s-why-denmark-culled-17-million-minks-now-plans-n1249610

Yeah I guess that does make sense. 👍 I can't even remember the last time I saw anything made of mink.....or any kind of natural fur for that matter. My mom had mink, rabbit, and fox coats when I was a kid. She was quite the "diva". 😎
BilletHead Posted January 10, 2021 Posted January 10, 2021 As @Devan S. said found in Fur farms and in many domestic animals. It has jumped also to a wild mink. It was caught close to a mink farm in Utah. vernon Posted January 11, 2021 Posted January 11, 2021 While my current stance on this topic has been pretty clearly established I have also stated that I am not interested in persuading anyone one way or another and that's the truth. Everyone has to decide what is in their own best interest based on information that is available to them. That being said I have recently been made aware of something that I felt obligated to share. I mentioned that my niece was a nurse at St. Luke's (six and a half years) and she is now in her third and final year as an intern to become a CRNA (nurse anesthetist) at KU Medical Center. As such she travels to hospitals in other locations a month at a time to administer anesthesia in real life situations. She was home this weekend and was getting ready to leave to head back last night when she got a call from the husband of her travel roommate (another intern) informing her that the roommate would not be going back as expected as she was very sick. It seems that the roommate had "recovered" from Covid a little over three weeks ago and had been just fine since. It is my understanding that she exhibited the typical mild symptoms with the Covid. This is a thirty something young woman in otherwise perfect health. On Saturday she had been administered her first dose of the Covid vaccine and by Sunday had become seriously ill. She had a fever of 101, severe body aches and headache and in her husbands words was "the sickest she's ever been." I don't know anything beyond that but wanted to share it here as honest information is the only way we can educate ourselves and make smart decisions. It is also my opinion that in the current climate reports of this nature will likely be suppressed. Again, just an honest opinion. And while I'm sure many will disagree I don't view myself as a conspiracy theorist and no I don't believe that the Pope was arrested yesterday on child sex trafficking charges and that the Vatican was ground zero for vote switching in the election. As I stated I have a current personal stance on this deal but I'm not so hard headed as to not be open to new and or contrary opinion and will continue to seek as much factual information as I can and suggest all others do the same. If and when I hear more I'll be sure to report back. snagged in outlet 3, Seth, fishinwrench and 1 other 2 2 "Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups." Quillback Posted January 11, 2021 Posted January 11, 2021 Makes me wonder what the process is for someone that has recently recovered from COVID, whether they should get the vaccine. It doesn't make sense to me that you'd need a vaccine if you've recently recovered from it, but I'm a layman and this virus is certainly different.
snagged in outlet 3 Posted January 11, 2021 Posted January 11, 2021 KU requires all employees to get the vaccine... I personally know 4 people who work there and they all confirmed that.
