I know you posed these questions specifically to Bill. I tie my own jigs for flyfishing. The Wapsi Super Jigheads have pretty good hooks on them, and come in a variety of weights and hook sizes. I like the #6 hook on these for large bass. https://www.avidmax.com/wapsi-super-jig-heads-plain/

Hey Bobby if you don't find what you want you might try @JUNGLE JIM 1 on here for your float and fly needs. JUNGLE JIM 1 Posted February 11, 2021 Posted February 11, 2021 I've been fishing them since before I ever heard the name float n fly. The first jig I ever tied that caught fish was a float n fly. I tie them from 1/64-1/8 using either craft hair or duck feathers and simply fish them under a weighted float. This is my favorite bait for crappie, but catch plenty of bass on them including my PB dtrs5kprs and snagged in outlet 3 2
JUNGLE JIM 1 Posted February 11, 2021 Posted February 11, 2021 Continue above post. PB Largemouth caught on a 3/32 black craft hair jig fished without the float using 4lb test line at a county park lake. Also caught my only 12" bluegill on a 1/32 f&f tied with duck feathers. Gill weighed 2.52 lbs with a 15.5" girth. Johnsfolly, Hunter53, abkeenan and 9 others 12
Bill Babler Posted February 11, 2021 Posted February 11, 2021 Sorry been away a few days with the total knee replacement. Had to go back to Columbia for a check up Originally most all the jigs for the FF were duck feathers. I had mine small ones custom tied with hen hackle on a size 1 gama hook in the lighter sizes. Take a look at the perfection of the tie on my pictures. I'm a pretty good fly tyer but I can't do that good. Glad I bought a bunch cause I can't get them anymore. Bobby your rig sounds good to me but 20' is pretty close. 40' would be better. I'm not so much fishing drops, mostly looking for staging suspended fish in transition areas. Same place you would use an A-rig a stick bait or a swim bait And no spot luck is not a make it break it deal for this type of fishing. Hardly use my lock when FF fishing dtrs5kprs 1 http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com

Bill Babler Posted February 16, 2021 Posted February 16, 2021 I'm going to just bet that floater is going to hammer them this year. We are setting up perfectly for it. I can't wait. Oh I guess I can as I can't get the boat out yet m&m 1 http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
