I'm enjoying the heck out of all of them. By the way if Boyd had a bone to pick with Brandon he wouldn't of invited him to "his" league when he created it I wouldn't think. This debate could easily turn into a who's a better running back ... Jim Brown or Emmit Smith? Or who's a better home run hitter ... Hank Aaron or Barry Bonds. Us older guys are naturally gonna hang with the older guys on tour, while younger guys will tend to think the up-and-comers are better. Personally, I don't see most of today's young guys hanging with the Rick Clunns, George Cochrans, Larry Nixons or Denny Brauers when they were in their prime. But 25 years ago, I probably would've seen the younger guys as stronger. Good fodder for debate. big c 1

m&m Posted June 16, 2021 Posted June 16, 2021 Actually the best running back was Barry Sanders. Mike Gumboot and snagged in outlet 3 1 1
vernon Posted June 16, 2021 Posted June 16, 2021 Gale Sayers. "Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups." George Carlin "The only money ever wasted is money never spent." Me.
DADAKOTA Posted June 16, 2021 Posted June 16, 2021 Hard to compare the guys from different eras. All the new electronic gadgetry has made some of these guys real good. Take all that away from them and throw them back in the days of Clunn, Parker, KVD in his prime and see how they'd do. Totally different ballgame today.
willyfish Posted June 16, 2021 Posted June 16, 2021 Its hard to argue that KVD isn't the best "tournament" fisherman of all time. He has won around 7 mil. I would like to see a tournament where you get a boat, tackle, and a map of the lake. You can have a temp gauge and a depth finder but nothing else. NO scopes and side imaging and all the other crap they have now. Then we get to know who are truly the best fishermen. Hank for sure in baseball, Barry Sanders is the best RB and I'll take MJ although a good friend of mine insists Wilt is the GOAT. m&m 1
Travis Swift Posted June 16, 2021 Posted June 16, 2021 Hard to compare anything really. Old 16foot boats, Color Clectors, new 100K boats electronics that look like an aquarium etc. The biggest difference too is the fishing itself, fishing was way easier on many many places back then with WAY less pressure. You just can't compare, you must just admire. To me many are hero's and freaking amazing. These guys are living many of our dreams and are just amazing fisherman and good people.
DADAKOTA Posted June 16, 2021 Posted June 16, 2021 As well as the lures that were available in different eras.
