Thanks for the input.

Of the small dent I made in that engineering degree, none were actually engineering related. The first two years are pretty much the basics to get you started, thermodynamics, physics, fluid power, all of the stuff that actually pertain to the discipline are in the last two years.

If I remember correctly, I was only a handful of classes away from getting the AS in engineering, but that is an essentially useless degree that really only gets you acceptance into an engineering program, and the classes that I need are all prerequisite to each other, so it would take several semesters since they could only be taken one before the other.

You are right about the engineering degree.  60 hours of math, physics, chemistry and dynamics.  Gotta get through calc 4 in math.  That can be difficult if not taken consecutively one right after the other.
Good jobs are like fishing.  You can’t catch a nice one unless you’re in area that has them in the first place.

About the only thing that would cause me to come up short of money was if, after calling and setting up the appointment,.....a gal would answer the door in panties and a T-shirt..... Because you knew the rest of your day was shot after THAT!     😲

🙄.  Here we go again with the porn scenarios.  Let me guess.   That happened 3-5 times a week😂

Here is the best most honest advice I can give you.  Quit tomorrow.  Go to the bank that knows you the best and that you've always borrowed money from and never missed a payment.  Ask to borrow as much money to start your own land management/land ownership business as you can.  Then get scared and work as hard as you can and as long as you can and hire as many people as you can to work for you.

Your qualifications are up there.  Hey the place you work now might be your first client!   Take some risks while you can and reap the rewards later.

And remember every businessman needs a good banker, a good attorney and a good accountant.  They are essential.  Good luck.

Oh and remember what Davy Crockett said:  "Be sure you're right, then go ahead".
