As much as I'd like to congratulate the young man.....that just AIN'T shooting.

Repetitive, known distance, ping-ping-ping....with an instrument (ok "rifle") that is form fitted to his body while wearing a certain shirt with a certain collar.    Ho Humm 🥱

Back in the 80’s I worked at McDonnell Douglas and we had a pretty cool archery club. We actually had a thru the woods shooting range and had quite a few members. One year we invited Olympic Archery Champion Darrell Pace to one of our shoots as an honored guest. I wasn’t there that day but my buddies told me that they brought Darrell around the range to do a kind of celebrity shoot. He, of course, was used to shooting standard yardages. They say he failed miserably... After that, they went thru the course a second time, except this time they gave him the exact yardage for each target. They said you couldn’t fit your finger in between his arrow and the bullseye 🎯 on every target. Just like everything else it’s all about consistency and repeatability.

The user "ignore user list" under your user profile on this site is great to ignore these trolls.

I just lifted it and guess what just activated it....

Speaking of trolls.....🙄

I've certainly never "trolled" you.

So.  You got me thinking Marty.  I'm interested in a good - not Olympic grade - air rifle and scope mostly for fun on paper.  budget maybe $500 or so for combo.  suggestions?

Well like Wrench said PCP is the way to go and some are getting real reasonable while the top of the line are getting stupid prices.

Here is the biggest problem. High compressed air. You will have to manually pump your rifle tank up and that is not fun, good exercise but no fun. @fishinwrench does his. Option two is buying a scuba tank and relying on a dive shop or paintball range fill it for you. Scuba tanks are not cheap and carbon fiber even higher but they can be charged at a higher capacity. . Option three is get a compressor and fill your own.  Again these are high and wear out quick. I bought a china made one a cheap model and have had to replace the piston once.  You are closer to dive shops and paintball filling stations where you live. Paintball can fill carbon fiber to 4500 psi. Scuba tanks 2000 psi.

Next time I talk to my uncle I will ask about his last purchase of a gun.  Said for the price he liked it real well.

I wish that all of my haters would use it.

Why do you suppose they won't ?

I actually know why, I'm just curious if you or anyone else does.

I don't know about others on here, but I don't consider myself one of your haters and don't have you on the ignore list. I find that about 2/3 of your posts are informative or entertaining. I don't read all of your posts either or simply decide not to respond to others.

Wrench is a good guy, don’t always agree but that’s ok.

FWIW, I heard about PED’s these guys were using for Olympic shooting competitions. Sounds crazy doesn’t it.

I've never used it.  I may not agree with everyone but I actually don't want to miss anything.  Might be something I am interested in or another "better" point of view than my own.  You never know if you don't listen.  Pictures are always a nice touch to any post though....  Right @Johnsfolly?😁

What kind?  SAME's?   I would think the same as pro golfers were accused of to control excitement under pressure?
