Members Richard Long Posted November 22, 2021 Members Posted November 22, 2021 Pretty sucky that a MILLION DOLLAR tournament would allow A-rigs when half of the club-level and even jackpot/tailgate weigh-in events ban it. Guess Johnny needed to sell some more rigs, leadheads, swim baits, super glue, etc. Champ, you are a whiney female doggy. I have never heard anyone cry more about this and that. Now it's the A-rig. Maybe you should buy your own pond and just fish in it.

The elimination of "Pro's", Guides, etc. in any tournament is rediculous, and proves that tournament organizers know very little about competitive fishing, and even less about psychology. Their mindset is that most guys are afraid to compete against that "caliber" of fishermen. And that truly isn't a factor at all. If it IS a factor then it's a factor ONLY to the "pro"/Guide.....who is leery of having his butt handed to him by some ditch digger in a $2500.00 Jon boat. 🤭 Champ188 and Royal Blue 2

And in his own backyard, no less. How about he puts some of his money behind research and potential supplemental stocking of LM and perhaps SM bass in Table Rock? You know ... REALLY do something for the sport instead of his financial portfolio. And by the way, is Johnny above the law when it comes to securing regatta permits? None listed for this event. Agreed!!!!!!! Only 4 bags over 15 and then it drops off pretty quick It’s Table Rock the most blown apart lake around. It’s not that easy to produce on a lake that gets drilled so hard with not a great population of big bass. Champ188 1

I follow lots of tournaments on this lake all year long and fish a lot of them and see 18-20 quite often especially when it is a bigger field. So i was just saying out of 350 boats its kinda surprising. Yeah it gets beat up pretty hard with tournament pressure but there are plenty of big bags in there, I just think October and November are tough Champ188 and m&m 2
waterpossum Posted November 23, 2021 Posted November 23, 2021 I live on Stockton and there's not as much fishing pressure as TR. That said there are still too many tournaments on this lake. There is an occasional 7-8 lb fish, but that is rare. Probably by the time a bass has reached 3 lbs it's been for several boat rides. IMO stressed fish aren't going to reach any size before natural mortality. If there were any substantial numbers of 5 lb fish, then 25 lb limits would be weighed. Champ188 1

I agree with you but at the same time our lakes dont have those southern strain that creates the giant bass. People say lake Fork is one of the most heavy pressured lakes in the country but 30lb bags are not a rare thing I wonder how many over 5 were caught on TR this year i know i had 4. which in the last 7 years i have only caught 2 others over 5 and this year i doubled it. And especially this year i saw higher weight than i ever have since i started following this kind of thing. It almost always took 17-20 this summer in all the night tourneys

Every tournament organization in creation wants to hold their championship there. The big-bass event (another Johnny-palooza) comes in the spring and HOPEFULLY doesn't land on top of the spawn, not to mention five-fish limit tournaments fishing right thru the spawn, taking thousands of fish off their beds at a critical point in the reproductive cycle. We can't keep exploiting this great resource and not see a dropoff in fishing quality. The question is, how long will we keep beating it down before someone says, "Hey, let's go play in another pond. This one sucks!"
