All I know is grits are delicious, oatmeal now that is disgusting.

Would this be somewhere in between? I grew up eating this stuff. Haven't had it in years but kind of want some now.

We were just talking about that the other day. Haven't had it for years, but we do like it. Chocolate version too; we had that a lot as kids.

Well, I'll say it again: you just haven't had it cooked right. :D  Steel cut, with a little butter and real maple syrup is really good eating, IMO. The missus loves it with brown sugar and cinnamon.

Being a moderator is not easy when people - especially friends - take it personally.  Doesn't really help that I have a much less forgiving nature than Phil either.  I find myself walking a rather thin line somewhat often when it comes to moderation.

I bought a quart of real maple syrup at the Springfield farmer's market last month.  A guy from El Dorado Springs makes it.  Unless Vermont Maple Syrup is a LOT better, I'll take Aunt Jemima.

Craisins and pecans are awesome in oatmeal too. If we have some a heaping tablespoon of gooseberry jam takes it to the ausomeness level.

I frequently add these when having oatmeal and cream of wheat. Delicious!
