moguy1973 Posted February 24, 2022 Posted February 24, 2022 I don't think I want it. I don't have enough time to go fishing as it is. Trying to figure out more electronics when I do have time is just wasting my time I have to fish. I'd rather look at the beautiful surroundings than staring at a graph screen while fishing anyways. I have my eyes on a screen 5 days a week as it is. MOPanfisher 1 -- JimIf people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles. -- Doug Larson

I don't want low profile reels, braided line, or a new Caymas with a 4-stroke outboard.....So I just don't buy them. Life is good. 🙂 BillT and snagged in outlet 3 2

Do you think they didn’t catch any bigger crappie because there just weren’t any bigger crappie in the population???

Look at what Josh Jones had done in the American Crappie Trail. He strictly Livescopes with a single pole and the other guy in his boat is only there to net fish. That's how precise he is with targetting those bigger fish. The weights in crappie tourneys on Lake of the Ozarks have gone up quite a bit as well and it's purely due to Livescope. I've heard of more 2 pounders the past few years on LoZ than I ever have. One thing that people have realized is that the biggest crappie are typically loaners. People who aren't catching larger crappie with FFS just aren't utilizing the technology in the proper way. If you're fishing for dinner there really is no point in doing so either IMO. snagged in outlet 3 1

That's possible. @Seth I tend to agree that in the hands of good fisherman that bigger fish are likely susceptible to being caught than before. Seth 1

If they are recreational then its highly unlikely they would pass up trees, docks, ect full of active fish if they didn't see big ones or go out looking for the open water roamers that are generally bigger. Fishing like that isn't a numbers game. Tournament anglers aren't looking for a 15 fish limit most are just a 7 fish limit so you have a whole lot more benefit to taking the risks of passing up barely legal fish looking for bigger fish.
