Usually wouldn't go but have a friend from MN visiting and he wanted to.  Was pretty well ran.

Picked up s Pfleuger reel that was $20 off and a Fenwick HMG that was half price.  Picked up a few other things too.

Figured I saved well over $80 on stuff was going to buy anyway.

Lucked out on the shuttle both ways and had no waiting.  Lots of checkout registers, so less time there too.

Ended up great time good visit with some vendors and saved some money.

Probably wouldn't go on a weekend though.

I really like those Fenwicks and i need an extra, Make a great Ned rod

Just my input on the fair. There was alot of good deals, but alot of the lures where at full price or buy 3 get a hat or a free lure. The fair was run very professional and a ton of pro’s that would give you the tine to chat. The rain sucked and it was cold at times and it didn’t help that I had leaks in my shoes! They sure could make improvements for sure, one is to post the seminar times and speakers when they start to take admission online.. I ordered my tickets for Wednesday not knowing the seminar’s schedule and not knowing my ticket was good for all the days of the fair, and I paid $ 20 and they send me a e card worth $ 11 of my $20. Did they over charge or. Was that the plan? The shuttle was a good thing but the crowds where down do to the weather. And the hourly winners where never announced , maybe they did the winners by e- mail if they did it at all, but then again I have the worst luck when it comes to winning anything!  It was a good time and it was like the old days of the fishing spring classic. Alot of pro’s and a ton of vendors! I was glad I went wet shoes and all.

We used to go down to Springfield from Columbia for the Fishing and the hunting classics. Used to have great seminars. Then they had their big expansion which diluted the seminar schedules trying to accommodate so many more stores.

Also loved the Missouri Deer Classic that used to be held in Columbia (not sure if it returned from St Louis). I met a lot of the hunting show professionals at those events.

Back in the good old days at the spring classic the vendors had free space at those classic’s until BPS started charging the vendors alotof money for that space and then the vendors stopped coming! 😢

I asked four or five employees where the seminar was and no one knew. So just for fun I got my picture with the Paw Patrol. I think the guy overseeing that was Charlie Evan's. Anyway I asked him. He led me to the outside tents and pointed out the seminar tent. I hightailed through the rain to that tent. KVD was MCing the forum with the Legends of fishing. Hank Parker, Jimmy Houston,  Bill Dance, Roland Martin and Johnny Morris. The seminar was about half way through. It was hard to hear some of the comments. I had my raffle tickets with me. The instructions were to put them in the hopper at the seminar. Finally some guy caring a five gallon bucket hollered. "Last call for tickets" I waded my way through the crowd and got my ticket in the bucket with no time to spare. I was standing right by the stage and yes my number was called. $500 gift card.
