Hybrids on the same old same old

Fished the Big muddy up near Chain of Rocks. The action was crazy good on a 5 inch LiveTarget Gizzard swimbait. I put a stout Owner  3x hook on the belly and boil the tails and paint them up a bit with a Sharpie. This bait has produced more big fish in city boy poopy water than anything else for me and has made me fish bigger swimbaits and glide baits much more than I used to, it can be very frustrating and very very rewarding. I only repot the good stuff to you guys. I broke my rod on the 9th fish and then re-tied with the 3 eyelets I had left and caught 10 more, absolutely absurd. Oh and JonsFolly will love this one I caught my PB Gizzard on the bait some how it bumped my bait and was large lol

hope you all have been getting out as much as possible, I for one am liking these gas prices as it seems to be keeping people away from my precious little streams and that’s awesome with me.

Used to fish Chain of Rocks all the time! Miss that place. Caught lots of sauger, walleye, wipers and whites there as a kid. 

One Saturday in February these good ol' boys were doing a massive fry. They were frying anything that swam in the river. I walked by and they said "hey kid come try this." I said "I'm good." "No, try it."

So I eased over and had one of the best pieces of fried fish I've ever eaten. No idea what it was, but boy it was good.

Yes the walleye and Hybrid fishing is pretty dang good there. I think everyone there was blown away at how much further I was able to throw this bait on the rod I had brought. The one old guy kept saying “ you have a distinct advantage there by launching that lure like you do” lol

I could not get bit on top water but, the swimbait swam as fast as I could reel really did the trick.
