Mitch f Posted October 4, 2022 Posted October 4, 2022 Ya know politicians lie, cheat and steal all the time and people still vote for them. But fishermen are a different breed…these dudes will be shunned big time. Daryk Campbell Sr 1 "Honor is a man's gift to himself" Rob Roy McGregor
fishinwrench Posted October 4, 2022 Posted October 4, 2022 It's amazing how quickly the tournament director, and all of those ol'boys in the crowd, just suddenly forgot they were Christians...... isn't it ? 😅 See what I mean? In times like that aren't they supposed to consider "What would Jesus do?" tjm and aarchdale@coresleep.com 2

Ketchup Posted October 4, 2022 Posted October 4, 2022 The tournament director is a police officer and told the guy helping him at the weigh in, that you can see running to get the knife, to call the local officers before things got bad. They walked the one guy out as the other had locked himself in his truck. These guys had gone full scale, padding those fish with fillets stuffed in too. Kinda crazy when you think about what it took to cheat. Daryk Campbell Sr and aarchdale@coresleep.com 1 1 TinBoats BassClub. An aluminum only bass club. If interested in info send me a PM.

In a tournament where most of the fish are dead anyway, and aren't required to be released unharmed......is it truly a sin? I've never participated in a walleye derby, but do the rules specifically state that nothing can be done to enhance the weight of a fish? And are they allowed to cull a dead fish? If so then wanton waste should be deemed an equal sin. If I were to think about it for a minute I bet I could point out a number of things about tournament fishing that are ungodly. tjm and Hawg 2
Hawg Posted October 4, 2022 Posted October 4, 2022 Cheating is one thing. The fact that they’ve cheated and there is money and other assets involved is going to open up them up to civil and criminal fraud….
FishnDave Posted October 4, 2022 Posted October 4, 2022 Switch to total length instead of weight. There was a bass tournament on Lake Powell (?) where guys were weighing-in bass caught the previous day from another lake (Quail Ridge Lake?), and got caught. That's mental.
DADAKOTA Posted October 4, 2022 Posted October 4, 2022 Not sure how the law works in Ohio. Several years ago a guy was planting fish in a live basket on Blue Springs lake and retrieving them during the tourney. An angler had found the live basket and notified the tourney organizers who brought n the MDC and the police. I believe MDC went and took pictures of the fish after clipping portions of a fin on each. The organizer was instructed to conduct the weigh-in as normal. If the the cheater weighed the fish in and placed in the money they were instructed to pay him. As it turned out the perp weighed in the marked fish and won 1st and big. After they paid him the authorities stepped in and arrested him. Apparently if he had not gotten paid there wouldn't have been theft/fraud. Wonder if the charges on the Ohio cheaters would have been more severe had they been paid? Johnsfolly and Daryk Campbell Sr 2
