Congrats ... that should be right in the middle of the spawn again. What would be wrong with scheduling these to MISS the spawn rather than to land right on top of it? Another example of how committed ol' Johnny is to taking care of our resources.

Don't mean to pick on the BBT event except that if JM was really the conservationist that he's trumped up to be, seems like he'd take a lead role in looking at how many tournaments are scheduled each year on Table Rock and perhaps lead the way in reducing that pressure on our wonderful resource. I think it's pretty safe to say that TR is easily one of the most tournament-pressured lakes in the nation.

As Browning Guy suggests, find a way to cut back on derbies when the fish are in their most vulnerable state of the year. Surely there's a viable solution if the powers that be (i.e. money folks) would come to the table and talk.

I think then they should change all sports event then. Like deer hunting then. Shooting those poor little deer when they are out to breed and are the most vulnerable, Putting football and basketball on all the local channels should be banned. Then you have all the water being used for all the golf courses, football fields, baseball fields, soccer fields all should be banned, because they all use to much water.

And then ban all politicians.

Come on you got to be kidding. Tournaments are not a problem. At least tournament put the fish back in the water and are not taking them home to fill their freezers up with fish. There is a lot of care that goes into keeping fish alive in most all tournaments.

I know I will probably catch all kinds of !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! for this. But you will not hurt my only little feeling I have.

This gets beat to death on this site, especially for this tournament. You will never change the minds of the “has beens” here.  Are there fish harmed? You bet. But how is that different than a joe blow fun fishing for 8 hours a day, on the exact same days as this tournament, and keeping his legal catch to fry up? Multiply that by the number of joe blows out there daily, and i would bet more fish are harmed from daily fishermen than any tournament. Difference is, tournament guys pay to fish. Others very minimally.

Good to know 👍

Your position on that topic indicates that you believe there are as many acres of freshwater as there is land, fields, and woods.

How many miles of land have you passed over this year vs. miles of water?
