It is hypocritical that he says right away in the video that he is fishing the BFL that weekend.  It is the same when he complains about all of the development.  It seems like everyone just wants their own personal table rock lake that they don't have to share with everyone else.

If you fish on table rock, or use table rock lake at all, YOU are part of the problem, myself included. Everyone wants to vacation there, hence the bulldozing of hillsides for resorts. Everyone wants to fish there, hence the tournament overload and fishing guides galore.  Everyone wants to live there, hence the real estate carnival down there.  Yet, those are the exact same people who complain about too many pleasure boaters, houses and fisherman.  It is a catch 22.

I couldn't have said it any better, I completely agree. It's all about dollars and cents in the end and that lake is conveniently located in the middle of what everyone needs and wants. Just go to another lake folks.

I've ranted about this myself in the past.  The number of tournaments is completely out of control.

The purpose of having to aquire a regatta permit is ...... What?    Anyone have an answer to that?

If you don't agree that the number of tournaments being allowed now is excessive, then at what point would you agree that it is excessive?

If the tournament organizers don't begin to recognize the ridiculousness of what they are doing.....and knock it off......then SOMEONE (water patrol, or MDC) is going to have to start stepping on toes.

Spot on. Missouri State Highway Patrol regatta listings are easily available for all the lakes. I live on Stockton and the permits are excessive, but nothing compared to the Lake of the Ozarks and Table Rock. There is a constant debate about increasing bass quality. I think it's a futile attempt unless the hauling of bass literally by the thousands over the course of a year is reduced.

Flip side of all this is that there are plenty of people who enjoy these tourneys.  All the comments I see from the people who fish the BBT is that they have a good time.  Won't catch me near TR this weekend, but there are literally hundreds of people that are going to be out there fishing these tourneys.  As long as that is the case, it will continue.

I do.

The main reason permits are required is so that there are not 2 tournaments out of the same ramp at the same time. “This info given to me 2 weeks ago when Cindy from the permit issuers called me and i asked that exact question”.  Other than that, they do no good.

TinBoats BassClub.  An aluminum only bass club. If interested in info send me a PM.

Why would the Highway patrol care if there is ONE tournament with 100 boats.......or TWO tournaments with 50 each ?

A simple sign would tell anglers which set of scales to go to.

Ask Cindy....."Since when is the MSHP in charge of eliminating confusion at a bass tournament weigh-in ? "

They should have intervened at the Gravois ramp yesterday because a group of 3 kayak anglers almost got beat over the head with their paddles for blocking both ramps for 45 minutes.   Why in the hell does it take 20 times longer to launch/load a kayak than it does a 20' bassboat ? 🤔

I bet a kayak derby, prep for takeoff, has to start at like 2:00am.   😅

Gotta say that while I haven't encountered many kayakers in my fishing travels, the ones I have run across on the whole have been pretty darn entitled. Cutting between me and the bank I'd been on for 30 minutes to fish ahead of me and giving me the old line, "You can go anywhere you want, I'm just a little kayaker with limited mobility." I get that and do my best to give them all the room I can, but this particular dude was nowhere around when I first started fishing that stretch. Recently at Horseshoe Bend on Beaver, half a dozen cartoppers each took up the extremely limited truck/trailer parking spots at the ramp. They could've easily shared those spots, but no, they had to be entitled jerks and center themselves (longways) in each spot.

Man, life as a fisherman is sooooo tough.  Kayaks on the ramp, Holy Toledo!  😀

I'm normally extremely patient at the ramp..... but for the love of all things 🙄

It's a 4 lane ramp but they back right down the middle of two lanes, then spend an eternity piss-anting gear from the car to the yak, strap it all down, rig rods, change shoes, install depth finder, ect.ect.   All while a line of trucks/trailers/boats are sitting there idling and waiting on them to get out of the way.

At least unload all the ACCESSORIES into a pile next to the ramp..... move your godforsaken car.....and pull the yak off to the side !   😖

Does anyone in that line of waiting vehicles get out and talk to the yakkers?  Or does everyone sit there and fume?  If I've got someone blocking a ramp, and it does happen from time to time, I'll walk up and ask them what's going on.  Usually that will work, sometimes not, but it at least makes them aware of what they are doing.
