He said they closed the doors on that boat brand. They pushed that boat marketing to the point of extinction.

With boats costing $100 grand apiece, could the market finally be pricing itself into big trouble, as we've all been predicting for decades?

Within 3-5 years there will be a lot of used rigs for sale at very reasonable prices.....but there will be a catch.    Those Mercs over 200hp will have performance issues that nobody can rectify.

What dealers, and some individuals, will be doing is replacing the props with ones with a lesser pitch in order to band-aid the hole shot and get the top end RPM's back up.   Which makes everything seem fine..... temporarily.

Cars and trucks already showing signs of market weakness.   $16k factory money on Rams and I saw a commercial for $20k rebate on GMCs.

I seriously doubt it.  Outside of a major depression or possibly a long term recession, have you seen major items go down in price?  My current house is smaller than my first one and worth more than 10 times what I paid for the first one.  As long as the buyers can get the credit they will still be out there.  When I was in the business all what most of them wanted to know was how much is the payment with no concern for the interest rate or length of the loan.

Lets hope so. There will always be those that bind themselves with debt in the name of fun. I’ve done this myself, and let the wants be more important than my needs. I do currently have a boat payment, but it’s reasonable and i could pay it off today if i wanted. After this one is paid for, it will probably be the last boat payment i will ever have.  Cash is king.

How many more decades is it going to take?  I only have a couple more left myself.  😀

Just be glad you don't have to spend them in a Caymas. 😆 Hey, we knew something had to be up when Johnny hadn't already bought em out.

Makes you wonder how long Clouse will hold out before he gets sucked into the vortex that is the White River Marine Group. Pretty sure Rick Pierce would never consider it.

I was just thinking along those lines.  If any boat manufacturers get in trouble, JM will be there to swoop in.

Of course, Mr. Morris is getting up there too.  Might be JM Junior that does the swooping.

A couple more left?
