I've had stream fish run under slab rocks and around drowned trees numerous times and don't recall many abraded leaders. I know abrasion resistance is always a big advertising factor with companies like Maxima even advertising that their Chameleon is more abrasive resistant than their own Clear and that their Clear is more abrasion resistant than their Ultragreen, but it just doesn't seem to happen that often to me. I've had too many weird break off with straight braid. Touch a taught piece of braid with a sharp knife and then do the same thing with mono or fluoro and see which one cuts the easiest. The braid will cut with hardly any pressure and the fluoro/mono takes more effort. snagged in outlet 3, fishinwrench and tjm 3

I've wrestled big bass over old rusty cables with fluorocarbon and just knew that 5' of that line would be totally trashed.....only to run it through my fingers afterwards and not be able to find a single frayed spot. 👍 It's good stuff ! nomolites and Seth 2

It's flashy, popular with all the guys, loves being noticed and works awesome when it's in a good mood. It's also high maintenance, very temperamental, has to be pampered and will leave you absolutely heartbroken without any notice......... That being said, I will spool my spinning rods with 8 lb red label in the winter and will use what's left as leader material to braid when I throw little swimbaits on a spinning rod while float fishing in the summer. For the vast majority of the rest of my fishing, I prefer just using regular mono, tying the knots I want to tie and avoiding all the excess "drama".......... I use fluoro all the time, braid to fluoro leader and just about all my bottom dragging c-rig, jig and t-rig stuff. It's no more maintenance than mono. I use Seaguar. No drama at all. Palomar knots are easy to tie. I'll use mono for top water and moving baits. I like Maxima. I have tried straight braid with jigs and ned rigs, it catches fish, but that is the one line I have abrasion problems with fishing rocky lakes like TR and Beaver. Because of that, I have gone to fluoro leaders. I know that others have been able to fish straight braid on dragging techniques on these lakes, but it had not worked for me. snagged in outlet 3, grizwilson, TRRANGER and 1 other 4

I use straight invisix fluoro and fluoro leader with braid. Never had any problems with it. Never had problems with vanish or red label either. It’s just too stiff. Palomar or shark knot and crazy Alberto. Lotta spit😂 nomolites and Quillback 2
Mitch f Posted January 10 Author Posted January 10 Extrusion, Extrusion, winding, trying to imagine the manufacturing process…crazy stuff. In awe 🫢 of the process…what’s next? I just need an unbreakable supple line that’s fairly invisible then I’ll be happy "Honor is a man's gift to himself" Rob Roy McGregor

And chose a fluoro that’s around .014-.016” diameter for my bait casters and about an 8 pound maxima or Trilene XL for my spinning rod. snagged in outlet 3 1 "Honor is a man's gift to himself" Rob Roy McGregor
