Maybe I’ll pause duck hunting for a weekend on the White, too. Fishing was pretty good this morning. Cody, Daryk and I caught a lot of nice fish on jigs. And Daryk got his biggest rainbow ever. It was just over 20-inches. That was a great cap to the weekend. Thanks to Phil and everyone for the great event! Daryk and I with our big fish. 22.5-inches and 20-inches..caught at the same time. That was a cluster! The real cluster was Cody also was hooked up. TRIPLE, with my net that has a hole in the bottom. Awesome morning. We had a blast. Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted January 29 Author Root Admin Posted January 29 I think Marty should demonstrate flint knapping at our next gathering. I'm going to block off unit 22 for this weekend next year... this really should be an annual event. laker67, Daryk Campbell Sr, Ryan Miloshewski and 9 others 11 1

Now you say that, after the young man at the desk asked if I wanted to go ahead and book again for the same weekend next year....He was a great help, did not catch his name but dropped about $200 in the fly shop on materials and boxes. Going to email him today with a picture of some stretch tubing I am looking for. Phil has a great selection of materials, some that I had been having a difficult time finding, at better than Amazon prices. If you have not been in his shop it is worth your time. If I understand correctly at some point in the future it will be expanding. Great Resort, Great People Great food. The only negative was that I got busy cooking and did not get to visit with @jdmidwest Thanks for the honey, that was so nice. Members KayDub Posted January 29 Members Posted January 29 Shout out to DJ for bringing me down to TaneyFest what a blast it was. Still in a food coma, amazing work; Gordon Ramsey's got nothing on you all. It was great to see some folks I hadn't seen in a bit; Les, Phil and Blake glad you are doing well. So nice to shoot the breeze and laugh with new friends Rick, Daryk, Cody, Ryan and Jim. Thank you to Marty and his wife (did not get your name, I'm so sorry) for the info about reelrecovery.com which I will pass on to help some guys with their journey. I too caught my first trout on a flyrod, my flyrod not DJ's this time, which is cool. Also caught a 20" bow throwing a jerk early in the am on Friday. Thank you all for the hospitality and I wish you all the best in life, fishing, health and family. Hope to see you all again soon. Johnsfolly, Quillback, BilletHead and 5 others 8
Terrierman Posted January 29 Posted January 29 A truly wonderful time. I don't remember for sure who said it, but they nailed it with "This is a lot more like a family reunion than a fishing trip" It's really like that with these people. And everybody showed up with food that was the best of the best. I'm definitely going to bring Janet next year. Thanks again Phil for putting me up and replacing that hook on the DD Sculpin, even if it did take me 20 minutes to get that plastic guard off. And it did come through on that brown. Had fun with literally everyone there. Thank you all for coming and making it so much fun. tjm, Johnsfolly, Quillback and 3 others 6
