Tried some of @jdmidwest honey on a biscuit this morning and had some grilled chicken with @BilletHead BBQ sauce for dinner last night. Top notch stuff, gentlemen. Thanks again for the door prizes. Truly a great group of people. I need to recruit some more "youngsters" to here to make sure the forum and tradition carries on.

OMG the honey from @jmidwest and @BilletHead were both amazing.

I had a great time for the short time I had.  Nice to put names to faces.  I could have spent the whole trip visiting, but I had family and friends waiting on me.  Did not get to sample all of the feast.  When you have a piece of arm for a tongue, its hard to talk and eat.  So I decided to talk instead and visit.  Just wish I had more time, maybe next year.

Enjoy the honey, I usually take 5-10 gallons each season and distribute among friends and family.  Next year, I will make more pints so it will go farther.  Did not know a head count for sure, so I brought a dozen.

Thanks Phil for bringing us all together so we can share this little journey of ours together.

Hey, recipe special request for that Strawberry dessert that was like Banana pudding except with strawberries.  That was good stuff!

Will get Ladybear to share....

No oatmeal raisin cookies, Sandy?. Rick brought I think 7 dozen to the cabin at Roaring River for the opener one year. We had ribs, pork tenderloin and wings and invited Rick and Harv over for dinner. We had 5 in our group and the cookies were all eaten by the next morning.

@Quillback I did make that cake.  While I'm not a great chef, desserts are my specialty.  I will not EVER try to compete the DJ's wife's cheese cake however.  Hopefully it won't be a year before we meet again.

I honor of Rick, I promise to start bringing snacks to share at the pavillion.  So if you see a bowl unattended, you can assume (if it's yummy) that I brought something ❤️ And of course, I'll have to bring a carafe of coffee :)

I mix the meat and let it smoke to brown the sausage and hamburger @ 350 ish in a cast iron Dutch oven or disposable aluminum pan then scoop the meat out with a serrated spoon and drain but save the drippings in case they are needed at the end, then mix in the remaining ingredients and then cook it for a few hours to in the low 200 range. I don't cycle the heat like he asks to in the directions when I do it on the grill/smoker.
