Do you suppose CWD got to these, or do you think they were shot and never recovered? Screenshot_20240203-180329~2.png

The one looks like it died while still in velvet?

Found today, all within 300 yards of each other.

So a sick, diseased, and dying deer can still grow a thick healthy looking set of antlers like that?

That seems kinda odd, and contradicts what other biologists have said.  "Dry crusty noses, spongy hoofs, spindly antlers".    I know I've heard/read that before.    Guess it depends on which biologist you're listening to. 🙄

I’m not understanding what he filled out incorrectly on the form. But when I hear about them “seizing” it from his house, I feel they went a little overboard. My experience with Fish and wildlife guys is that they are privileged A-holes with way too much power. Every time one came to speak to our smallmouth group they were all so chubby they looked like they sat behind a desk all day. Government workers supreme.  I have pretty much zero respect

Few years ago KDWP kept harassing a couple in rural, Western Kansas about a "pet" mule deer they had around their barnyard. It was around since it was born and I guess the doe died earlier that year and the thing stayed around. They fed it and it was comfortable around them. Well, two agents went out there and shot the thing right in front of them.

So, no, KDWP especially has nothing better to do.

Darn JayHawks probably caught in Missouri

I don't know why that couldn't have been done with a blood test?  I mean I'm sure the deer wouldn't have objected.

Nah,  9/10 of them are just doing their jobs.   It’s the one that needs to prove their authority that spoils it.

Most of my encounters with them are a quick license check and on their way.

I’ve ran into more privileged a holes trying to keep a 9.5 inch crappie, cause it’s “close enough
