I will tell you this. Never and I mean never with 50 years on this lake have I even though about fishing locations that I witnessed last Fall during the Toyota series event here.

100 to 150 feet of water suspended or on the  bottom of targeting SINGLE fish in the main channel and catching them.

It was truly life changing as far as what I knew about fishing. FFS and the ability without limits to use it and expand the horizons of where fish are moving solves  huge mysteries.

When the Fall dispersal occurs in September thru early November we always wonder where they go.  We now know, and really I’m thinking it’s not good knowledge.

Computer Science, an uninhibited open mind and really no history to clutter your mind.

No previous lake knowledge is required any longer. Truly a portal has been opened as far as fishing.

Really didn’t see it coming to this extent this fast. KVD probably got out at the right time.

What’s really scary is these folks are just now putting a small dimple on the surface of what’s coming.

On another note the lake is totally full of boats today. Watched a guy catch 3 in front of the house this morning. He was fishing deep tree tops up and down.

I think that this technology applies to almost every targeted species. For example, how easy would it be to find a group of paddlefish and then just run perpendicular to that group when snagging. Not only are you likely to snag more fish, but also injure and potentially poorly release others while keeping the big ones.

When FFS first became a thing I was hired to install one.  After doing so I took it out and experimented with it, getting the settings right and so-on.   My first impression was "OMG I have to have this!".   And if they'd only been 6-700.00 I probably would have immediately ordered one.

But after thinking about it for awhile I realized that I did NOT want that in my life.  And since I only fish the occasional derby, and I'm not truly serious about it when I do....I certainly don't NEED it.

Probably my biggest concern is what it will do to smaller bodies of water.  The fish populations in those 15-300 acre lakes are doomed.

It pisses me off that the anglers that COULD SPEAK UP and get the point across, like Nixon, Clunn, KVD, ect.   just stay quiet..... afraid to get themselves into the "old fart" camp.   They really let us down on this one.   Randy Blauket is the only one not afraid to speak his mind and TRY.

SHAMEFUL!

Time on the water or in the woods actually fishing, scouting, hunting in no longer required for success.

And I don’t think you get the same experience or satisfaction as you do without it.  But I don’t have it so it’s just a guess.

Watch Josh Jones or Ben Milliken on Youtube.  They have it dialed in and the number of big fish they catch out in the abyss is crazy.  The TX DNR tracking study is pretty interesting too.  How many BIG tagged fish are located later on no-nothing flats is an eye opener too.

I think Milliken gets $2K a day for a guide fee.

Phoenix BFL is this Saturday, It might have live coverage on the MLF website.  I may watch for a bit if they do, but I probably won't last long if it is all FFS.

Today at Big M there were 5 rigs in the lot, 4 of them had Phoenix trailers, don't know if that was coincidence or not.

No !

Ben doesn't "guide".

They auctioned off a day in the boat with him, and some rich kids daddy SAW TO IT that his kid won.  🙄  The kid talked on his phone to a gamer buddy while they were out, and never caught a fish over 3lbs.

This is what bass fishing has come to. 😡
