waterpossum Posted March 5 Posted March 5 Since a new era of deep water 3" minnow bait fishing has been unleashed will the manufacturers of power poles, crank baits, spinner baits, etc. etc. etc see sales plummet.? Let's just say I wouldn't be too keen on investing in their stock.

But then again Sixth sense is having zero problems selling the new hangover. snagged in outlet 3 1
Seth Posted March 5 Posted March 5 Since the vast majority of bass fisherman probably don't own FFS or tournament fish, I doubt it will matter much. It's just another market for them to hit. Stick FFS on the package and the wannabe bass anglers with $$$ to blow and no idea on how to properly utilize their new fangled sonar will be lining up to buy it. top_dollar 1

I only know of 3 guys that are truly decent bass fishermen, that do not participate in tournaments, or have FFS rigged on their boats. And I'm one of them. Not counting the River Rats of course. They are a different breed. 👍 Seth, waterpossum and nomolites 3

Every once in awhile someone will post a bass their fixing to eat on some social media sites to create a big stir
Quillback Posted March 5 Posted March 5 Watched some of the Elite coverage at Fork last weekend. Young scopers are dominating. I believe 6 of the top finishers were rookies. Old school guys like Christie, Swindle, and Iaconelli are not even making the cut. The winner, Trey McKinney, all of 19 years old, had 130 lbs. over 4 days. These weren't deep fish they were scoping, mainly fish around trees in 10-15 FOW. A lot were caught on jerkbaits. I have no plans to get FFS, having fun fishing the way I do. And that is what it is all about for me. Seth, Champ188, nomolites and 5 others 8

The thing that got me is that these FFS guys would not last in an old style tournament. I remember my arm being so tired that you could barely make one more cast. Now these guys just ride around waiting until they see a fish. No need for stamina now. I'm not saying their new way is bad. Some of them obviously love it. But it is going to be all about money now. When I started I could take my dad's old 1978 Ranger and go compete with anyone at 19. Now I wouldn't be able to afford to compete without all the toys. But that's okay, those companies got exactly what they wanted. It was never about fishing to them anyway. yowoodchuck, Mitch f, Quillback and 4 others 4 2 1

There's a high school tourney at Table Rock in early April, 250 boats in the regatta permit. I think it falls under the MLF umbrella. Sure would be interesting to know how many of those kids will be in FFS equipped boats. Flysmallie 1

I'd be curious to see how many are fishing out of 80k+ boats in general. snagged in outlet 3, Quillback, Flysmallie and 1 other 4
