Is it too cold right now for trout? I figured they were a cold water, lazy fish. Also, what lures work best here?

Reading all these posts made me remember a tip.  If your fishing in a boat  in really cold weather, make sure you wipe down your trolling motor when you stow it for another drift, because after you make your move it will be frozen stuck.  You'll have to kick it loose or pee on it :)

As Mr Babler says, I just ain't that mad at them.  40's with no wind, I can deal.   I've fished and had ice in the guides on Tablerock during a One Bass Tournament.   I didn't care for that.

I don't think guides is the only thing that got iced up.

I didn't care for falling off of the boat either.   LOL.    I hope all is well on your end my friend.

One year @BilletHead, @Ham and I met at Bennett's for C&R. I believe that the temp was either 14 or 17 when we met up. Warmed up into the twenties maybe even above freezing when we left. Caught a bunch of fish and had a good time.

Oh yea it was cold!   I remember one frigid jig fest and boats were frozen on trailers, frozen steering and throttle cables too. @Daryk Campbell Sr was out there!

That was as cold of fishing as I've done.  Took a few minutes for the trailer bunks to thaw out and turn the boats loose.
