Painting jerkbaits for big trout

I have started to paint jerkbaits for big browns.  Now, I am completely new to this and just diving right in head first.  I purchased a fairly cheap complete airbrush kit from Hobby Lobby, water based acrylic paints, powdered mica pearl pigments, and 2 part epoxy clear coat as recommended by our very own Mr. Billethead.  Thanks Marty!  Been gathering various jerkbait blanks from different suppliers looking for ones I can get to suspend.  I’ve been trying my hand at two different color schemes and feel like I’m starting to get them dialed in.  My ultimate goal is to get a rainbow trout and brown trout pattern dial in but I’m a long ways off from that yet. It has been an enjoyable way to spend what little spare time I have this time of year sucking up some AC and staying out of the heat.

Well at least some of us can say we knew him before he hit it big time :) . We knew him when he was just a top notch guide in Alaska . Now he runs a custom bait manufacturing company. Someday folks will covet these lures like the wigglewort. They will be traded and put in display boxes and handed down for generations. Dang,

You don't have enough money for the limited edition one. I have seen and even touched one then wiped off the fingerprints. The things are even better in person, truthfully they are,

One would think after "seven" pages, a picture of a big brown trout caught on these specially modified lures would surface.

Then, of course, one would have to go fishing first.

I guess you missed a post where the first fish caught on one was a 20 inch brown.

But then again one would have to read all 7 pages first....
