Let's take a moment.
Daryk Campbell Sr replied to stone9-7=2's topic in General Angling Discussion Archives
It is tough to realize it has been 20 years. I do love a good conspiracy, and always dislike the way I am treated or pushed aside for asking questions that don't seem to fit an agenda. Why cant we have a true conversation. I will listen to anyone's view, but most won't listen to mine. Dont get me wrong, I'm not a tin hat guy. But there are many unanswered questions, I like to discuss why. -
What are you listening to?

Just seen a reference to this on Facebook. Watched the video, they were simple back then. A few years before my time, but I always enjoyed it. https://youtu.be/vdSqLfuRN18 Zagat and Evan's 2525 -
It is a different experience. I think I prefer to wade. Lucas sure liked the boat. I have always had better luck on shore.

I would start by asking the guide(s) you trust. Or by asking around the marinas near where you would like to fish. The better names will be flushed out.

Took Lucas out to introduce him to the Darkside with Ozark Trout Runners Capt Blake Harris was our guide. Lucas had a great time, as did I. Dont tell anyone, but Lucas beat me with the most fish, most species and the biggest fish. He caught 4 rainbows and a sucker. So, I am generally very conscious about life jackets, and gave Lucas the option. While he chose not to wear his, the generation was turning off, and he is an accomplished swimmer, has taken life saving, and has had experience falling off his kayak in cold water. (Like father like son) . The experience was a great one. I have never hired a guide before, and I told Blake that I wasn't worried about me catching fish. I just wanted Lucas to have a good time. Let me tell you, he had a great time. Blake kept up with us, making sure we knew he wanted us to catch fish. I've read about people who had bad guide experiences. While catching was slow to start, Blake was consistently trying to give us pointers, and just keeping the morale alive. When we left, Lucas told me the fishing was fun, but the commentary was awesome. There you have it folks.

I enjoyed it. They have alot of puns. All throughout the store. They sell tshirts, candy, novelty items, magic tricks, little prank toys. A little boy's dream store.

While the daughter was at practice, I goat a chance to get to my favorite stream. I have not been very successful lately, but it worked tonight.

Yes. I have 2. They are chipped. Dogs love me, and I am not always comfortable around them. I had a few while growing up, but I dont really want the responsibility of a dog, and we all know how well kids' promises are.

Haven't heard of this. Title?

OAF Forum Rules - Revisited
Daryk Campbell Sr replied to Phil Lilley's topic in Messages for, and from, the Admin
My son is currently taking Boaters Ed. He informed me that he doesn't have to wear a pfd in MO as he is 14. I said 18 and under.is the law. I was wrong. MO law says under 7. -
These are golden!

@Phil Lilley, I like to look of those. I know one of the problems you mentioned was the weight with the water. Maybe if you created the longer walls as a v, with the handle walls staying the same for support, it would serve to hold less water, and orient the fish to a better photo opportunity. Just a thought.

Price shipped? I am curious to use a left handed reel.

2015 Mercury 9.9 four stroke
Daryk Campbell Sr replied to wily's topic in Tips & Tricks, Boat Help and Product Review
While I'm a firm believer in DIY, I also know experience has its price. I've spent way more on many projects, time and money both, than to pay someone who knew what they were doing. And, if we all were self sufficient, how would anyone make money? -

Garmin Force trolling motor - pros and cons?
Daryk Campbell Sr replied to buckcreekmike's topic in Table Rock Lake
I do all of this. Even solder all my splices. But, I am guilty of the wing nuts (only on the battery) . I can imagine how they "could" fail. But, dangit, I dont plan to remove those. -
Used to find the shells all the time as a kid. They kind of had a way of making me frightened. Not sure why. I would pull them off of whatever they were attached to, but still was uneasy about them. Neat to see the change.
-
I have the Amazing Flying Lure. Not gonna part with it though. Took me many years to acquire it. That was my first As Seen On TV "need".
-
The mess is outrageous. I still need to wash my boat from the slime it got from the carp that jumped in. Leaves a silvery mess similar to a slug or snail trail. But on a massive scale.
-
I've strongly considered taking up bow fishing, but then you have the carcasses to take care of. I don't have a garden that needs, or can handle such. So there is that dilemma.
-
I vote no, because my favorite fishing hole flat out stinks now due to invading species. I seen plenty of fish, couldn't catch a single one. The asian carp are not shy. I bumped a few with my lures, they never flinched. I walked towards them while on shore, they didnt care. I was not a happy person this evening. Sorry rant over.

So, maybe what you are really asking, or should be, is what are the similarities of the points you are working. If you can find the common denominator(s) of them, you will find it elsewhere.
