  1. I have a ‘13 pro-kicker. They are a tad temperamental on cold start but I have zero issues with mine. Mike
  2. Nobody is perfect...and Marais is a great resting place, that used to be some of the best waterfowl country before the 93 flood. I had permission to hunt fields adjacent and we had a couple low spots holding water that we set up in and had birds working constantly. I will never forget those years. Awesome. Mike
  3. I never used to, I do now. It’s getting pretty western in the urban areas with thugs feeling emboldened since there is no way they can be IDed with current mask mandates. They just don’t care. Sucks, but it’s a true story. Yes, we need to get out of the St. Louis area. Mike
  4. That is how it’s been, then it shows up and they back date the tracking. It is redic. Surprises are good tho, yes? Mike
  5. I carry IWB at my appendix , not always the most comfortable while sitting(requires an adjustment after sitting or standing up) but it is the best solution for me. I can also carry with sweatpants or gym shorts as long as they have a good tie cord. With larger frames I carry OWB in back like Ollie but need a outer jacket for concealment. Mike
  6. I thought they were in OK...know I sent a T7 there once for warranty replacement. I have a handful of them and love them. Unfortunately, trade is not fair, and not everyone will pay the cost of a top end USA made rod. Enter the Chinese...... Mike
  7. I placed an order with Mountain Hardwear 12/19, shipped USPS on 12/21.....still don’t have it. They claim I will have by 01/22. I am not holding my breath, and it is simply “inconceivable” that outfit is going belly up........ Mike
  8. You don’t need heavy line to catch big stripers, just a quality reel, good quality line, and a properly set drag. For trolling or bait fishing the clicker will alert you to a strike and you can otherwise focus on boat control. This is a big plus, especially if using multiple rods. Always set your drag a bit light, especially when trolling, and life will be much easier. Almost all of my setups are 10# line, either braid(trolling) or fluorocarbon, with the exception of my “deep” trolling rods which are rigged with lead core(18#). You should only need the larger reels for lead core or a very heavy mono...suggest you decide what line you would like to use and size your reel accordingly. Good luck! Mike
  9. Sorry Eric, looking at the plus side is definitely the way to go....and moving closer to the Ozarks is definitely a plus! Best wishes for 2021! Mike
  10. Actually, the States are running the admin. Or should I say “not” admin. You can’t expect anyone to work the holiday, can you? Agree with Bill’s doc friend that they should be administered FCFS if the locals can’t make a decision beyond making available to the health care providers already vaccinated. TETO, I will get mine as soon as available...I could use the extra protein anyway. 😉. Thanks for stepping aside. Mike
  11. Gotta go where the current forage base is located, biologically speaking😉. They can still be had in numbers around certain large docks(think restaurants) early in the morning before folks are about. That is, if you can fight off the dang channel catfish.... Mike
  12. Agree stock triggers are junk...got more travel than a gypsy caravan.... Mike
  13. Nice. He is a just a youngster...but he will eat real well.
  14. While my offerings in the suburbs are modest and not intended for rodents I get my share, as well as a group of Cooper’s Hawks hunting my feathered friends. I’m only at 43 on the year...and have been giving them a break recently. Need to upgrade to one of those PCPs. Mike
  15. 15.4 gr of lead works well for my feeders and vegetables, have found no the else as effective. Mike
  16. I woke up thinking along the same lines. I don’t want for money, food , or family...while we can’t see folks in person today due to health concerns we can visit with them on-line....and they are actually happy to see and hear from us!. Yes, we have challenges, but I have faith we will get to the other side. God Bless all, and Happy Thanksgiving! Mike
  17. And they are fun to shoot. And they are easier to clean up by orders of magnitude than a traditional muzzleloader. Also, the results are quick clean, and sometimes spectacular kills as long as the operator has done the legwork up front to validate the loading. They can also be operated with lead slugs without sabots, black powder, and iron sights. I have used mine out west where that is the requirement and while it surely limits their range, they will take elk, deer, or other game swiftly and cleanly. I love that cloud of smoke and when it clears often seeing my target anchored in its tracks. Mike
  18. I have an in-line, TC Pro Hunter, and it shoots as well as any rifle I own. I would recommend an in-line, there are many good ones out there, use a sabot and high quality pistol bullet like an XTP and I prefer loose powder over pellets so you can adjust as required to improve accuracy although pellets are easier. Mike
  19. I have caught hundreds from LOZ on cranks and spoons...even a handful like this guy(spoon). They roam with the shad and will eat any shad imitator. Mike .
  20. I have the same networked setup, use it and like it a lot. I primarily fish Lake of the Ocean and self deploy/stow is da bomb. I primarily chase walleye and with electronic boat control I can actually fish rather than fight the boat all day. Mike
  21. Agreed.....and I don’t recall you stating that this thing would be solved if “???” or “!!!” either. Our(humanity) track record suggests we(collectively) have more work to do. Mike
  22. Stood in line for 2 hours this morning to exercise mine. Saw 3 people out of several hundred not using good sense. Mike
  23. First let me say, I wear a mask as appropriate - which is a lot lately as my wife has health issues at the moment that have required many hospital and doctors office visits. My beef is the scads of virtue signalers, who quote their belief in science, when they truly do not understand it at all. Just repeating what they have heard .... and low and behold there are many who don’t like to be told what to do - and will go out of their way to not comply. We humans do not have control of this thing, we are just along for the ride. That is science. Mike
  24. I haven’t been down recently but I would start looking in coves/pockets off the main lake with wind coming into them...I would start looking in the middles in 40 FOW or less back to about 15 FOW and look for scattered bait And them larger fish. If a strong wind they will follow the bait to the wind blown flats or banks either in those coves or on the main lake. Deeper fish I’d work spoons; those in shallow will bit a variety of offerings but I usually start with in line spinners or swimbaits. Wind is your friend and concentrates them with the bait, flat water makes it tough - evenings have always been most productive for me. Mike
  25. If you’re gonna go, might as well go two fisted.....
