  1. The alternative methods record smallmouth is 4 lbs 3.92 oz. They say that it was caught on while jugfishing (RIGHT !?! )
  2. Stay safe buddy. We are having weird weather. It was 60 deg today, but may only top out at 35 deg on Sat and expecting rain or snow in the afternoon and evening. I am hoping to get back out and maybe catch a brown or two more, but also hope for something new ! We'll have to see who gets more impressive catch photos posted on Sunday !
  3. Continue to take care of your wife. Glad to hear of the good prognosis. We'll keep you guys in our prayers.
  4. Congrats Phil on a couple of nice browns. I do like the more heavily colored diploid browns. Still wouldn't mind hooking a big beefy triploid brown. Thanks for posting this video!
  5. Congrats Quillback! Those are some nice fish. Even though they are bass !
  6. That's a great bunch of Feb crappie. Congrats!
  7. MOPanfisher I understand how difficult it is to put your dog down yourself. We had our bordet collie for 12 years. She was a rescue and never really knew how old she really was. We knew it was time as she became more incontinent, was losing weight, had hip issues and trouble getting up and down the stairs. I took her out the last time very early in the morning to not wake the neighbors. That was the most spry that she had been in over a month. Broke my heart.
  8. We went through both sides in just under 5 hours. If I do that again I would go through one portion in the morning, go out and get lunch and then go back and go through the rest. Since they scan your tickets at each part instead of tearing it shouldn't be a problem going off site to get lunch. Only issue may be parking !
  9. Good to see some spring poking through after the ice issues. May mean some Missouri darters may be in their spawning colors when I get backthere next week! Sorry didn't mean to bring up fishing on this garden thread !
  10. Good luck! Can't wait to see if catch some more fatties.
  11. Congrats on those bass! They are pigs or did you just fill them with shot ! Those babies have been eating well or are full of eggs.
  12. Congrats on the new boat and your success on the trout and those stinkin bass! Hopefully get to see it in Dec.

  16. I could see some of these MD browns tearing up those clousers ! Even those tidal stripers may bites thise as well.
  17. Good luck buddy! Can't wait to see those 1 am giant bows and browns! Wish I could join you, but would need an old man nap if I went . I am likely to try a different spot for those Maryland browns this weekend.
  18. Very nice! Should get you a few fish fries with those. Good luck!
  19. Just got through first two parts. Great photos and write up! Sounds like an adventure so far. Would love to see more fish but as you mentioned the fishing was slow. Can't wait to hear about that gar!

    What's Cooking?

The reason for the pot roast was to set the stage for the scramble I made the next morning. Chopped onions, tomatoes, garlic, and the left over pot roast into similar sized chunks (except for the garlic). Cooked the meat in a little goose fat, added the onions and seasoned with garlic powder and a little smoked paprika. Once the onions were translucent, added and cooked the tomatoes. I beat five eggs with a bit of dried thyme and added to the mix. Let the eggs cooks a little bit added S&P then swiss cheese and served.
