I have done them for vertical jigging spoons, but with heavy fused braid (it is stiffer). I used a snell knot at the hook and a double palomer at the O ring.
Gentlemen, Ladies - I do not know @trythisonemv. However, as part of the OA family, I pass my condolences to the family. I know how losing your father feels.
I also wish to thank all of you for being the "family." In many ways our "family" is as important, if not more so, than real blood. Just my maudlin 2 cents.
Walleye are top end predators. All that accumulates in their forage becomes a residual in them. Like salmon and walleye in the great lakes, we should not eat them every day.
I use a double Palomar knot for line to lure/hook. I fish Yozuri Hybrid because it is inexpensive with fluoro traits and ties a good knot.
10# is my line for medium heavy.
For ML I use 6 or 8#.
Stick with the 4# on the ultrelights.
Just my 2 cents.

Twice I have suffered the "can't stop them" syndrome. Once on Keystone, outside of Tulsa, in the 70's. The second time about 8 years ago on the flat outside of Stubblefield Branch on Table Rock. I attribute both to flatheads. No shakes, no anything, except determination to test your drag and line. Both times, I instinctively tried to apply a little thumb to the spool and paid the price. I will admit, I felt dumb at the idea a little thumb might help. But then, I did not have a lot of practice. I would welcome a third try.
Meucci is the Shimano or Daiwa of pool cues. Black Dot shafts are the top end blanks for the rod. The carriage case is the same grade. You may not play, but the man's offer is more than reasonable.
Eakins was a junction, like Don Butler, Joe Krieger, and Buck Perry. From there we have disciples. Bill Dance, Jimmy Whats His Name , somebody Martin. Eakins went the way of finesse, and slow, and on the bottom. Now that everyone power fishes, Eakin's legacy shines bright.
Congrats on finding Falcons half price. Until I started making my own rods, I fished Falcons.
The rod will be great for the Keitech, finesse jigs, and things like in-line spinners for white bass.
You will be able to fish Neds, but lightest weight versions may not load the rod well. I say give it a go.
From the specs, I know you will enjoy the Table Rock.
@MNtransplantI know you are seeking to use your BPS cards. Once you do, the next time your want a rod, let me build it for you. I have a standing offer to OA members that I will build for materials cost
Rod companies tout the lightness of their rods. Balance is far more important. When I build a rod, I epoxy the largest bullet weight that will fit in the rod butt before I build the handle. I also use micro guides. The end result is always a balanced, light tip.
