5bites Posted October 24, 2018 Posted October 24, 2018 That’s pretty interesting. Looks good. I’ve never heard of anyone doing that.
Basfis Posted October 25, 2018 Posted October 25, 2018 Marking up an unpainted blank is way easier than detail airbrush or stencils for me. I bought a mixed color pack of fine point sharpies to keep playing with. Brown shows brown after paint and clear. That surprised me. Hoping purple and orange do the same for jerkbaits. Time will tell. Is there a thinner epoxy than bsi anyone recommends?

You can thin the BSI with denatured alcohol and extend the working time Basfis 1 A Little Rain Won't Hurt Them Fish.....They're Already Wet!! Visit my website at.. Ozark Trout Runners
5bites Posted October 25, 2018 Posted October 25, 2018 I’m not sure about thinner but this is what I used. It’s harder than woodpecker lips and was recommended to me by an east coast painter/bait maker. https://www.homedepot.com/p/FAMOWOOD-1-qt-Glaze-Coat-Clear-Epoxy-Kit-5050080/301826159?MERCH=REC-_-mobileweb_navplp_rr-_-NA-_-301826159-_-N
Fish24/7 Posted January 18, 2019 Posted January 18, 2019 ok, who's been painting this winter? I just got out all my painting stuff and have a pile of Spro Rock crawlers that need some attention. Will post pics .... BilletHead 1
Basfis Posted January 19, 2019 Posted January 19, 2019 Still dabbling. Couple square bills the other day and based on another thread, just got 15 predator stickbaits to tinker with. duckydoty, Fish24/7, Quillback and 1 other 4
duckydoty Posted January 19, 2019 Posted January 19, 2019 Just finished a batch of ghost minnows. Still need to split ring and hook a batch of sculpins. Getting ready to start another batch of 20 rainbows. Just upgraded to a bigger compressor. Just a bit louder than the little airbrush ones but does not run near as much.
