Smalliebigs Posted September 28, 2016 Posted September 28, 2016 I celebrated my 13th year of marriage to my wife with a quick float trip. I say quick because we dropped our daughter off at school at 8:30am and had to pick her up from the after care program and take her to dance class by 6:00pm. We didn't even get on the water until 11 and we're home by 5:25. I guess I just lucked out as it was one of those Al Agnew sort of days. I caught 43 fish in the time I fished and all were from 14 to 18 inches with only one really small dink....it was nuts!!! I was getting cocky and horsed a definite 20+ Smallie to the canoe and pulled Aaron Martens right out of it's mouth...my bad . My wife got to the point where she refused to take anymore pics and said I was being a dork. It was our Aniversary and I had to pay some attention to her so I quit fishing for the last two miles, which was very painful. I'm really not sure why the fishing was soo good?? As I just didn't expect much with the Bluebird sky and post cold front but I was just absolutely wrong. We enjoyed two bottles of Moet White Star Champagne and the weather was glorious as well the fishing was sick??? Still baffles me....we did run into one other canoe and it turned out one of the guys is a forum member here.I ended up giving them some baits and they seemed very happy :)....the Fall bite is in full swing for me I guess and it was nice to redeem myself after almost cutting my nose off in Hog Wally's boat. Sorry I had many other pics but the site wouldn't allow me to upload them?? Johnsfolly, Jason G, ColdWaterFshr and 11 others 14
cnr Posted September 28, 2016 Posted September 28, 2016 Well done Scott. You were due a good trip after your recent little adventure on Hog Wally's boat.
fishinwrench Posted September 28, 2016 Posted September 28, 2016 Looks like you're healing up nicely. Good deal ! You're lucky. If I even mentioned "fishing" on anniversary day I'd be sewing MY face up. Pat Magee, tho1mas, Mitch f and 1 other 4
Members DownStream Posted September 28, 2016 Members Posted September 28, 2016 Nice fish smalliebigs. Had a day like that on the Huzzah last Wednesday. Fished hard for 4 or so hours and caught 50 plus fish between two of us. Thanks for report.
DADAKOTA Posted September 28, 2016 Posted September 28, 2016 You smallie catching guys are killing me. Looks like an awesome trip. Congrats on your 13th anniversary. Finding the right lady can be tricky for guys that are really into fishing, hunting, etc. Finding one that enjoys the outdoors as well is even rarer. You have beaten the odds. Congrats again.
Mitch f Posted September 29, 2016 Posted September 29, 2016 Since it was an anniversary float...did you guys make a "Pit Stop" anywhere? Some witnesses I heard saw a small shiner not normally seen around these parts. Smalliebigs, Parkerhollow, Greasy B and 1 other 4 "Honor is a man's gift to himself" Rob Roy McGregor
