Since we had fly fishers and jig fishers,  I changed the name of the gathering.

Me and Duane took a boat out and @Chief Grey Bear and his 2 fishing buddies went out in their boat.  They followed up to Lookout where we found less than a half unit running.

Here are our pics...

We caught ours on 1/16th and 3/32nd ounce black jigs.

Brit's rainbow measured 19.75 inches - dropping eggs.

Looks like someone else belongs to a cat. If you know a member of a ELk lodge you need to reed the spread in the last issue of The Elks magazine. I been in the Elks for many years. They did this piece on Cats that covered 7 pages. Never ever have I seen anything that large on one subject. It is rare  to get a cat to go out in the boat.

The weather was a little rough but the fishing and food were good!

I met up with a high school buddy that I still fish with throughout the year. We fish mainly for walleye on one lake and trout on Taney.

He brought his young daughter on this trip to get her, her first trout. Picked a beautiful weekend to do it. But she was more than a trooper about it!

Friday evening we met up with JTram, his wife and Brian and all saddled up and went in town for a bite to eat. A little Joe's Crab Shack hit the spot.

Got to bed late and got up early. I'm not a teenager anymore even though I act like it. We cooked some breakfast and then met up with Phil and Duane. A plan of attact was hatched and we quickly headed up stream.

The fish started cooperating immediently. They weren't just jumping in the boat but we were kept fairly busy.

We all stopped fishing about 10:30 and headed back to the resort for some fantastic food! Smoked venison, pheasant, bbq pork, beans, corn, baked potato, salad. WOWZA good!!

The only downside to this weekend was the weather. It didn't bother the fishing but it cut the trip in half and made for a tough trip home. I should have left a little earlier than I did.

Every one caught fish. It was a fun day and a fun trip. I think Phil may be going to do this again next year. If so, I'll be the first to sign up!

A huge thanks to Phil for hosting this event.

Now for a few cockeyed pics unless you're viewing from your phone.

Chief

Great to hear about your trip and see the photos. Would have loved to have made it down to this event. Have to keep it in mind for next year. Glad to see your friend's daughter catch her first trout. Her great smile says that although the weather wasn't great she had a great time!
