Targa98 Posted June 12, 2017 Posted June 12, 2017 I would go 100% cottonmouth, just judging the way the markings all run together and the entire body running on top of the water. I can assure you if I was in the water I would be 100% on top as well, probally making people wonder why there are 2 people ever known that can walk(RUN) on water. nomolites Posted June 12, 2017 Posted June 12, 2017 I stand corrected, once I saw the head that was close enough. Mike Champ188 and cheesemaster 2
Members JacobW Posted June 12, 2017 Members Posted June 12, 2017 The white lines down the side of it's mouth and white underneath it's head is a dead giveaway. Triangular head and floating high on the water surface is key clues too. I'd say it would bite. cheesemaster and dtrs5kprs 2

Do copperheads swim on top like that? one of the easy ways to tell poisonous snakes is when they are on the water. poisonous snakes on water look as though they are on dry land. the float right on top of the water. non-poisonous snakes ride down in the water. bo Royal Blue, dtrs5kprs and cheesemaster 3

I caught a couple ripping a deep little n down the banks but it was slow. I busted out the ned and didnt put it down the rest of the day. I only had 2 keepers again, and they barely made it. I had about 25 or 30 total but most were dinks - like 8 to 11 inches. Gravel points and I found several in one little cut next to a drop off point - if that makes sense. Water temp was 78 to 79. Here are the 2 keepers with a smile for Vernon😉 and a couple special pictures!! Is this thing just a water snake or is it poisonous? I don't know my snakes very well. He thought about trying to get a ride with me - but I didn't oblige. Very nice smile!
