You mean that bears do $#%@ in the woods☺! Who knew. I had predicted 5 or 6 years ago thay MO would have it's first bear hunt within ten years from that time. Can't wait to see the results of their bear survey work. My prediction is still pending. In PA we had a lot of bears, but never really felt uncomfortable around them.

I would say MO is still 10 or more years from having a bear season, but maybe who knows.  A draw for a permit, a few high $ permits issued and money go to the bear studies?

We have done just fine my whole life without a bear or cougar population, and I'd prefer it stayed that way.  The only ones who support their introduction and protection are people that seldom get out of their cars.

There is one prowling around the Camdenton area and now folks won't let their kids play outside.  Having a bear in the area is apparently worse than having 10 sex offenders in your neighborhood.

All a bear is, is a giant raccoon that can rip the door off the barn to get whatever it wants. You think stray dog can mess with the trash wait until the bears get here.

Nothing wrong with Bear, Cougar, Bobcats and Wolves/Coyotes running wild. As an NW Arkansas, Northern Michigan kid that has spent thousands of hours in the hills and swamps I have never seen any of the above that didn't haul posterior when we met.  Spent years in the Military, never had a problem. ( I do hate leaches )

I'm at my Michigan fish camp, worse thing here is black flies and skeeters.  We just keep the trash tight and bird feeders empty in the spring
