moguy1973 Posted August 19, 2017 Posted August 19, 2017 My house has 1:37 worth of totality. It's going to be awesome if the sky's are clear. -- JimIf people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles. -- Doug Larson
fishinwrench Posted August 19, 2017 Posted August 19, 2017 I don't think any of us that are outside have a choice. But if by "watch it" you mean....sit in a lawn chair with welding goggles on and stare at the sun for 10 minutes? Uh...No. 😎 I heard that the Menard's in St.Joe have rented their parking lot to a large group of couples who intend to concieve during the eclipse. Now THAT would be interesting to watch ! And the audio would be priceless. Royal Blue, magicwormman, crazy4fishin and 2 others 3 2
Old plug Posted August 19, 2017 Posted August 19, 2017 My daughter lives in Hermann Mo atop that mountain that rises above the missouri river on the right as you cross the bridge into Hermann. That is where I will be. They have a real noce veiw of anything that goes on in the area.
MOPanfisher Posted August 19, 2017 Posted August 19, 2017 I guess I will.just be at work, sure I will step out on occasion to look, but am south of the totality zone.

176champion Posted August 19, 2017 Author Posted August 19, 2017 I'm with Quill on this..i have seen several eclipses using a welding hood with a number 12 lens in it...lol Quillback 1 I know everything about nothing and know nothing about everything! Bruce Philips
m&m Posted August 19, 2017 Posted August 19, 2017 176, is there an eclipse? All the hoopla reminds me of Y2K. I disagree with QB, a 3 lb SM is not as exciting BUT a 5 lb SM is waaaayyyy better than an eclipse. lol I was wondering....they say if you look directly at the sun, you could ruin your eyes. But what happens if you look directly at the moon? Kind of makes you go HMMM.... Mike Quillback 1
