We had cloud cover roll in and blot out totality. My first pic was the best, then a whole lot of bad ones, then managed another through a hole in the clouds. At totality, the street lights came on and the katydids started up.

I worked on the last picture quite a bit to try to capture what I saw. That's pretty close on my monitor.

That's about as small as it got here in Springburg. Sure were a lot of people standing around looking up.

I don't care who you are and what you say, the BilletHeads went to totallaty. A very inspiring moment.

I went to one of my favorite fishing holes where I have been doing good every day - I was there at the prescribed time - but nada - apparently the fish did not watch the news or it was just one of those days.  The temperature did drop a fair amount.

Only had about 75% eclipse here but got very very quiet...

Yeah it was quiet here too, I guess everybody was standing outside checking it out.  I wasn't close enough to "totality"  it got kind of evening like for a bit, then back to normal.  I did hear an owl hoot, but that was it for the sounds of nature.

That was a weird light.

The coolest part for me was that the cicada's went apeshit.   I haven't heard or seen a cicada all Summer, but obviously they are out in huge numbers.

The cicadas went nuts here as well. Our chickens did not know what to do. The hummingbirds even stopped chasing each other around and stopped chittering for at least the two minutes of Totality.

I have seen partial eclipses before, but this one was spectacular seeing a total eclipse! I agree about the weird light.

There are only two things in my life that were more amazing than the total eclipse I saw today, and that is the birth of my daughter and my marriage to my wife.  Those of you who saw a partial eclipse only saw a glimmer of what was a completely spectacular sight.  If you've never seen a total eclipse it's something you may want to go out of your way to see in about 7 years when it happens on April 8, 2024 across the northern parts of Arkansas and the southern and southeastern part on Missouri.

This is as good as I could get with my phone.
