They were TEN BUCKS in the 60's!!!! AFTER TAX! I played in the Chuck's in high school and moved "up" to suede Converse in college ball but would take the Jordan's everyday of the week! Those Converse were the stinkenest, blister creating monstrosities of all time and the "white" ones turned yellow after about two days. Remember the weighted ones with the blue toes for practice? Of course, we weren't allowed to wear the low cuts or even the black ones because they were for hot dogs just trying to look cool (like the Celtics). Sorry, but definitely NOT one the best examples of the good old days! Ranks right up there with wool baseball uniforms....... Quillback Posted October 24, 2017 Posted October 24, 2017 I don't know why people get upset about what other people own or spend their money on. Just get out and fish and enjoy yourself. In spite of all the fancy boats out there and fancy tackle people are using, fish are still out there to be caught. Daryk Campbell Sr, Royal Blue, LD Fisher and 4 others 6 1

Yep. Equipment does not make a fisherman. And you still see more cheap boats than expensive ones everytime you go. Bass Yakker 1

So you are not in favor of the American Dream or capitalism? Seems reasonable. If people didn't buy it, the companies wouldn't make it. So who exactly is to blame? The chicken or the egg? Thing is I am in favor of capitalism administered in a fair fashion. These days theymake their stuff in china becaise it is so cheap and push the amercan worker out of a job. Then sell ot back to then with high price pressure sales . That is not fairness. That is greed. I have said on here before I do not trust big bussiness types in any way to do the right thing. My father went down in the coal mines at the age of 5 so did his brothers. I can assure you the old song 16 tons is accurate to the letter. My mother worked as a dress factory sweat shop. In those days labor relation were conducted by thugs and at the point of a gun that was used more than a few times. Some people would just love to see a return to that type thing. Oh buy the way I do have a couple of the newer reels. Like I said.Though I see them in a repair shop. And say where is 99% of this stuff made? Not in this country thats for sure. They are not as sturdy and they are complicated to repair. Also parts are very high. Sorry but that the side of the tracks I cone from My wife comes from the same stock the common littlle people who never had it easy, I am not the scoin of some weathy familly. MoCarp 1
m&m Posted October 24, 2017 Posted October 24, 2017 I took all my tackle out of my boat before I took it to Ulrich for some warranty work. I realized I have a lot of tackle that I did not throw this year. Flat boxes I didn’t even open. HMMM....have I become one of THOSE guys who has too much tackle?? Say it ain’t so.
