I had to be approved by the St.Louis County Sheriff after they reviewed my background check. They approved me, that was 2001. I don' think you have that scrutiny anymore but, I could be wrong.

I also had to get approved by the Feds on another couple of pieces and get stamps....it took almost 4 months  to get done and now the Feds can come and inspect my pieces and make sure they are with me. Not a big deal but, they know I have them.

None of my guns have magically come to life and shot anyone either.

Are you a stamp collector or C&R? Or both?

Gun laws have changed so many times in my lifetime that it has become annoying.   The annoying part is that the only way you can know what the current laws are is to NEVER MISS WATCHING THE NEWS!

We are held to these ever changing laws, yet there's no law that actually says we have to read newspapers, browse the internet, or listen to the news every day. Maybe some folks don't wanna listen to the frikken "news" !!!

You can't even travel outside your town now because the LAWS can change at every county line, and they can be different every month.  That's rediculous.

When I first started shooting you could legally do anything you wanted to with a gun, besides kill someone.  You could legally shoot anybody you wanted to.......just couldn't kill them.   It's true!

If someone committed a felony and did their time then they could still have guns.  Then they changed it to where if a person ever got convicted of a felony then they could only have muzzle loading guns, then some years later they changed it to where they couldn't even have muzzle loaders.

Laws concerning barrel length on shotguns went through change.

Laws on how guns could be carried in vehicles have gone through multiple changes.

Every time the wind changes direction our gun laws change....but nobody ever sends us notice, or stops by to let us know.  We are just expected to constantly monitor the news for ever changing gun laws, and God help you if you missed hearing about one of the changes, because if you break one of them then you are immediately jailed.

That's BS !   "Ignorance of the law" is not acceptable, so you'd better spend the first half of every day listening to the news or surfing the internet to ensure you don't break a new law that afternoon.    Piss on it.  Having firearms is more trouble than it's worth IMO.   Just go ahead and take them!

I'd rather just shoot dinosaurs with a pellet gun and go fishing than to have to constantly monitor the stupid news all the time.  Anyone with a firearm and no computer and cable TV is eventually going to be a criminal.   Sad!

hahahaha nope no stamp collecting....I had to pay a $200 tax stamp for both of my suppression units. I was given a couple of guns by an old friend who passed away and had to get the Curios & Relics to be legal.

I guess I will be labeled a gun freak and a coward by all the anti gun boys here??? no biggie.....most people would never know a city fag like me has a piece on me, it just isn't a big deal.

I haven't felt the need to stay up to date on gun laws. I've carried them. Been questioned about them. Still not in jail.

Banning them will never keep them out of the hands of criminals. We banned drugs. Nothing changed. We banned drinking and driving. Nothing changed. But if we can make it harder for some retard to get their hands on one then I'm all for it.

I agree....the more legit you have to be and the more they look at your mental background to approve a gun purchase, ~~ I am all for it.......BUT, this won't work in all cases. The nut job in Vegas was all legit and passed all checks......but, I still agree with you and my opinion that we share pisses off some of my friends.....oh well you shouldn't be allowed to purchase if you are suspect at all. On the flipside we have a much bigger issue with the moral compass of our society that is not being addressed. What are we gonna do about all the psychos we are bringing up in this nation??...bad parents or no parents.... we have been a mess for awhile now.

The US has its share of nut jobs, but not any more than any other major industrialized nation.  So what is the difference?  Duh.  The super easy access to guns

The evidence from health professionals is overwhelming.  The statistics that you would think would correlate clinically diagnosed mentally ill persons to seek out and do these type of mass shootings -- the data just isn't there!  Obviously it takes an individual with a few loose screws, but to say that they will be caught -- or to blame health professionals or law enforcement for not catching them and reporting them is going to be extremely difficult.  Just like the Vegas shooter.

Sure, there were warning signs with this Florida shooter - the adopted parents seem like extremely naive doofuses, but whatever.  A 19 year old expelled student shouldn't be able to just stroll into Dicks and 15 minutes later walk out with an AR-15 or even a semi auto .22 rifle for that matter.  We sure as hell won't allow him to buy a 6 pack of beer.  This kid would have a heck of a lot more difficult time organizing a keg party!

If I go to the DMV to license a car,  gotta take the afternoon off and come in with about 5 different documents that got to be in perfect order.

Loads of truth herein.

Seems like just another form of suicide.  None of them so far have "gotten away", and they seem to accept getting killed or getting caught and receiving a life/death sentence just fine.

I guess some just can't end their own miserable life without taking others down with them.
