Sounds like a lot of conflicting arguments. Im fairly good a flipping without hitting anything, and most the tie the fish are in the  front of the dock or come out.  if someone says somthing i will leave without causing a fuss, but other wise im gonna jack them out of those stalls

The rule really only applies if you are fishing a tournament. I’ll come out and say I have fished many of those docks during recreational time. I’ve never saw the water patrol before that law but I may be wrong.

I know of one specific dock with a green roof for sure.

Where you been lately??? Good to see you back on the boards.

Yes, it is a law.  See this thread:

We have boats at POK, and it certainly happens a lot.  In regards to enforcement, I will make this observation:  for every 100 people that have the fortitude to do it on the East side of the point where nobody is looking, there is about one that will do it on the West side in the gas dock area.  Both sides of that point fall under the exact same legislation, and the West side is where a lot of tournaments release their fish.  Why doesn't anyone want to fish on the side with more fish?  Too many eyes over there? :)

I'm not judging, and being a bit facetious, but it is rather comical when you stand back and look at it from the 10,000 ft. level.

All the tournaments I've read the rules for state that you have to obey all laws and regulations.   Would you be cheating if you fished within the 50 foot mark on the commercial docks?  Most likely the answer is yes you are.

To the specific question about a house, that’s a poor example.

Guess you missed the houseboat part of the story.

Nope, sure didn’t miss it

Regarding “commercial “ I’ve always heard (and shared) that to define where commerce occurs. For example, gas dock, restaurant, bait tanks, etc. where traffic is typically higher, cables, lines and hoses prevalent....

Here is more information of the "commercial" zone restrictions and what is considered a "commercial zone". This a Little Rock District only regulation. I believe there is no other district that has this regulation. This regulation was the result of an altercation that occurred on Bull Shoals Lake. This regulation is only for commercial zones at Marina concession sites. The dock must be posted with a red sign saying either "Restricted - Marina Customers only within 50 feet from this dock" or "Restricted - Marina Customers only beyond this sign".

Here is some historical info about how the restriction came about from the Arkansas side.  This was written in 2009. Ward fought hard at the time to get this restriction stopped.

I've always been told in every tournament that I've fished that fishing within 100 feet of a commercial dock is off limits.  They always define commercial as a dock or marina that has gasoline.  At least that's always been my interpretation of the rule.  No way that point at POK is off limits for recreational guys and we tore them up there a couple of weeks ago.  I've always just kind of stuck to the residential docks and avoided the commercial ones anyway.

The way I see it is pretty black and white. No fishing within 50 feet of a marina dock, which includes not only their retail sales docks but also their storage docks.

There are a gazillion other docks on the lake to fish. Or can some of us only catch marina pets?

Rules are rules. And cell phone cameras are good for recording violators.
