Members Buck Posted September 1, 2018 Members Posted September 1, 2018 Going out in the AM as well. Seems like a lot of birds left with the cold and rain, but there's still quite a few in the fields I am hunting. Good luck to all!
Members Buck Posted September 1, 2018 Members Posted September 1, 2018 Well we got 21 between 3 guys today in a few hours. Hoping others did better. snagged in outlet 3 and BilletHead 2
BilletHead Posted September 1, 2018 Posted September 1, 2018 Way to go Buck, We the Mrs. and I got 19 between the two of us. 10 mourning, 7 collard and 2 pigeons. May try again in the AM, Then there was the feast. Season flowered the breasts and browned in goose fat. Removed and added white zin to skillet to work up the brown bits. To this added rosemary from the garden and crushed juniper berries. Brought to a boil and added the browned dove. Cover and braise/simmer for two hours. Mashed taters with sauce/gravy from doves and the very last of the BilletHead garden tomatoes, BilletHead ollie, nomolites, JestersHK and 6 others 9 "We have met the enemy and it is us", Pogo If you compete with your fellow anglers, you become their competitor, If you help them you become their friend" Lefty Kreh " Never display your knowledge, you only share it" Lefty Kreh "Eat more bass and there will be more room for walleye to grow!" Johnsfolly Posted September 1, 2018 Posted September 1, 2018 Congrats guys! Good luck if you guys get out in the morning. Daryk Campbell Sr and BilletHead 2
BilletHead Posted September 2, 2018 Posted September 2, 2018 Well did anyone else get out day two?', We did and the rest of the cornfield had been combined from yesterdays 20 acres to maybe 80 so birds spread out. We got a dozen and unlike yesterday Mrs. BilletHead shot much better than I did. We got a dozen and she did as part of her bag two doubles. Her shot to kill ratio was better than mine today also. Many, many resident geese up and down from pond to pond. The best thing about this morning was the teal we got to see. Two wads one of 100 or more and then a group of thirty. We did not see any yesterday but boys they are here and I hope all of us that chase them have luck soon, BilletHead tho1mas 1 "We have met the enemy and it is us", Pogo If you compete with your fellow anglers, you become their competitor, If you help them you become their friend" Lefty Kreh " Never display your knowledge, you only share it" Lefty Kreh "Eat more bass and there will be more room for walleye to grow!" I didn't get to take advantage of the hickory nut bonanza for squirrels on this trip. Too many meetings at work! Missed on my favorite times to hunt. Will likely also miss the fall mushrooms here in Missouri. Daryk Campbell Sr 1

The dove taste like dung. I've had it in South Carolina, Texas, Georgia, Kansas, Missouri, North Carolina and it has never tasted any better then military liver. Yaack. You enjoy them. snagged in outlet 3 1
