Is it ok if the LO guys use it when y'all bash OUR lake? You see, we get to hear about how foul and rediculous lake O is all the time from the TR guys, and all the while Lake O limits are dwarfing yours. Maybe after awhile that crap builds up inside the folks that truly do love this lake.....and a little sarcasm seeps out. Big deal, lighten up. Nobody wants to see a fish kill ANYWHERE. But when we have one here what is the first thing that comes to your mind? "Doesn't surprise me, that place is a cesspool". Right? top_dollar 1
MOPanfisher Posted August 14, 2018 Posted August 14, 2018 Likely similar to what we and others have experienced, combination of lower DO, warmer temps allow some naturally occurring pathogens like bacteria and viruses to stress them to the point they die. Ours was big walleye, hardly any smalls, then after about a week drum, then buffalo. A few other species seen but not in a number that would raise any interest by themselves. I truly hate to see nice walleye floating dead, alost as bad as smallies, yes it's a personal bias. If I remember correctly there is a herpes related virus that kills carp. Every lake just about is going to have occasional fish kills to some extent. Us guys in the middle refer to LOZ (lake of the ozarks) and LOS (lake of the ozarks south, i.e. table rock )
Members Cracken0812 Posted August 14, 2018 Members Posted August 14, 2018 I took these pictures Saturday from our pontoon at Eagle Rock. The main concentration was definitely around eagle rock but did find dead fish all the way to Holliday Island. I would say we saw at least 50-60 dead fish or dieing fish. 90% were walleye and the majority were quality fish. (One had to be pushing 12 pounds). A few were bass and carp but mostly walleye. Hated to see them go to waste. terryj1024, magicwormman, Johnsfolly and 3 others 1 5

That response I think is as much about who said it as the what was said. Guy has had a chip on his shoulder since day one here on the boards for whatever reason. Assuming his whole life from the looks of it. Never once in a single post he's ever made has he offered something beneficial to the OAF community. Just a bunch of negative, condescending, downtrodden and otherwise empty posts devoid of value. crazy4fishin, Smalls21, snagged in outlet 3 and 2 others 5
dan hufferd Posted August 14, 2018 Posted August 14, 2018 Thanks for the pics and info to everyone. I would love to catch a 10 lb + walleye from ANY Missouri lake. I am glad that we have them (lake, and walleye) if my boat doesn't sell i would love to say that i have fished all of our lakes.

Beyond that, anyone who bashes LOZ is either a blooming idiot or hasn’t been there. That place is as fertile as any farm pond and is loaded with giants. I’d be hard pressed to choose between it and TR if I lived halfway in between.

They are gonna say... "Oh not to worry, this is a natural thing that just happens because of blah-blah and BLAH. And furthermore blah- blahblahblah". The translation is: Hell we don't know, and even if we did there's nothing anyone can do about it, so just keep enjoying your beautiful lake and pay your taxes. You're right though, the only difference between the floaters and sinkers is whether they hiccupped or farted right before their heart quit beating. If they hiccupped then they float, if they fart then they sink. Fish do alot more farting than hiccupping (unless they die a sudden death or are shocked unconscious), so for every floater there is probably 100+ sinkers. merc1997 Bo 1
Gavin Posted August 14, 2018 Posted August 14, 2018 Yep, you have some dead ones. No big deal compared to SW Florida right now. No fishing between Sarasota & the Glades right now. East coast has some impac bout not as bad. Canceled our trip, selling off all in FL. A toxic swamp off SW Coast now. Used to have great fishing, but a dead zone now.
tjm Posted August 14, 2018 Posted August 14, 2018 This SW Fl. pic showed up on another forum last week, it's a fish kill; Johnsfolly 1
