I’m hoping to find the owners of some rods and reels that were laying on the ramp at one of our local lakes. I went to load up the boat and found them laying in the middle of the ramp (public ramp). It was raining and I’m assuming someone grabbed them as a group out of the boat and laid them to the side. I initially picked them up and put them  in the grass to prevent running them over. There were no other rigs there, I waited around for about 15 minutes and put them in the boat.

If anyone hears of anyone who left behind rods/reels and can give me an accurate description, get ahold of me.

Thanks Champ,

I honestly didn’t know what to do today. An undisclosed amount of rods and reels were laying on an undisclosed ramp. It looks like they were night fishing and set them out to put into the bed of the truck and pulled away.. If I left them there, the next guy might’ve  just called it a done deal. I’d like to see them back in the right hands for sure.

I'll second everybody on here thanking you on here for trying to do the right thing. I had a similar incident myself this past friday while trolling for walleyes on Stockton. I saw something floating and went over to check it out. It was a large plastic tray from a tacklebox. It contained all soft plastics. I stayed in the area for an extended time hoping someone would realize they lost it and would perhaps retrace their steps. Nobody showed. I really didnt know what to do. Take it to the marina? Place it on shore? Keep it? I kept it and brought it home. But after seeing your post here Ealy I will post on the Stockton forum page. Its not a tray full of expensive crankbaits but still would like to get it back to the owner if possible.

If the rods and reels happened to be found at one of the aunts creek ramps, they may belong to one of the anglers that fish the traveling Thursday night tournament (was Wednesday nights but they changed it this year).  Good bunch of guys that fish this and Brandon Morton, the tournament director, might know if anyone lost anything.  Below is a link to thier site:

If you have facebook maybe post them on facebook market in your local area. Of course maybe only post one piece of what you found and say if you can tell me the rest that you lost in exact detail and where you lost it, it's yours. Lot more eyes on that media site than here. Just a thought to get it back to the rightful owner but good on you for making any attempt. Everyone knows the feeling when you realized that you've lost or misplaced valuable or sentimental items (fishing tackle checks both of those boxes for me 😆). That sinking stomach feeling followed by panic and self loathing. Thanks for sharing and hope the person gets their gear back.

Maybe the owner had a tough time fishing and blamed it on the rods & reels and left them there because they are bad luck.....
