Gas-powered boats/tow rigs fueled in Missouri

If you have a boat/tow-vehicle that runs on gas or diesel and you fuel it and Vote in MO you might want to read this. 

Prop "D" is on the November ballot to increase the Missouri gas tax claiming it is for better/safer Roads and Bridges that we all use.....unfortunately, we are being LIED to again.  Only 30% of the revenue collected will go to MoDOT for roads and bridges while 70% is earmarked solely for increasing/funding the Missouri State Highway Patrol.  Your decision, of course, how you vote, but I'm darn sick of the lies and half-truths.  If you doubt me, here is the actual wording of the Bill:  

SS #2 HB 1460 9 Section D.  Pursuant to chapter 116, and other applicable constitutional provisions and 2 laws of this state allowing the general assembly to adopt ballot language for the submission of  referendum measures to the voters of this state, the official fiscal note summary of the act  proposed in section A of this act shall be as follows:  "If passed, this measure will generate at least $288 million annually to the State Road Fund to provide for the funding of Missouri state law enforcement and  $123 million annually to local governments for road construction and  maintenance."

How much is the proposed increase in gas taxes?  I am not a MO resident, but do sometimes buy fuel  there.

I believe the increase is a total of $0.10/per gallon phased-in in 2 & 1/2 cent gradual increases over about a 4 year period.  I have no problem with a needed funding increase for MoDot.  What I do strongly object to are all the lies, including expensive TV advertising, lying about the tax money all going towards the roads and bridges when it obviously is not.

Yeah I hear you on the road funding, personally I think they should do 2 separate initiatives, one for road construction/maintenance and one for further funding for the state patrol.  Too late for that obviously.

Its a sales tax increase....plain & simple...I plan to vote against it. The zoo tax too.

Same old, same old.  Claim to fund deteriorating infrastructure and siphon elsewhere.......

I can’t argue with the need to increase revenues for roads given the poor condition of our highways and bridges as well as the declining revenues from the current tax. It seems to me 123M per year doesn’t buy much road or many bridges. I know even less about the MHP and their needs so I can’t comment.

I refuse to vote for 99.9% of all proposed tax increases.  I worked for the federal government for 32.5 years, and the waste of $ is unbelievable.  Every ballot seems to have a 1/4% increase here, a 1/2% increase there.  It won't be too long before we are taxed 75%+ overall when all taxes are combined.  But then I guess that what socialism is, and sadly we are headed toward it. Tax it all for the NEEDS of the people.
