What the Heck?

I went down to fish at noon today The normal parking and overflow parking had overflowed. Some big bass tournament.

I went out anyway. Many boats here at the skinny end, and I have seen better manners at a juvenile detention facility.

I caught 10 in four hours with three on a RC and 7 on a Ned. One nice spotted bass keeper. Water temp 59.

Talked with Colin, the HI concessionaire, when I came in. He told me he made very little money off the fishermen. They all had gas and oil when they arrived and bought no items other than a few pizzas and beer.

Oh, and the first wake boat of the year came by me three times.

I was unpleasantly surprised by the number of wake boats and jet skis there were today. I was hoping we would get a few weeks to fish before the flotilla commenced

Jet Skis are as annoying as hell, but wake boats should not be legal.

I’ll say it.  I get it but I hate those things. 

Their legal use of the water hinders my legal use but my legal use doesn’t hinder anyone else’s legal use.

Easter weekend is usually the kickoff.  When I was up on Lake O Monday they were swimming in 57 degree water. 

Plenty of people here in the water yesterday at 57 degree also. Sister-in-law is down with her brood and they swam off the dock at Shell Knob all afternoon.

I think people like them because their disposable. When your done with them, you just run them up on the nearest gravel bar, grab whats left of your beer and walk away. lol
