The operation was a success.....for "most of his life". No words from God mention his placement of marks on anyone other than the Antichrist, so it is somewhat unjust to blame him for the marks on Padre, or anyone else. One would think that marks placed by God would be everlasting, no? Lots of people had marks - Cain for one in Genesis. But the stigmata is recognized by Christians (Catholic and Protestant) as a tribulation given to a very holy person. On the other hand most Bible scholars believe that the Antichrist was Nero, persecutor of the early Christians.

And since we still to this day have figs it is also "proof" that his curse was inept.

The "mark upon Cain" was not a visable thing, it was a curse put upon anyone harming or punishing Cane, that they would receive 7x the punishment for doing so themselves.
fishinwrench Posted December 16, 2019 Posted December 16, 2019 I think we need a Bible study thread topic header. 😃

Smithvillesteve Posted December 17, 2019 Posted December 17, 2019 My Dad was a minister. He told me one time: "Son, I'd rather live my life believing there is a God and finding out there isnt one, than living my life NOT believing in God and finding out there is!!" That kinda stuck with me!! Foghorn, ness, Johnsfolly and 1 other 4
fishinwrench Posted December 17, 2019 Posted December 17, 2019 That is known as "Pascal's wager". And that's all good if you can CHOOSE what you BELIEVE. If your kid comes in stumbling and smelling of Jack Daniels, but tells you he hasn't had anything to drink ..... Just BELIEVE him and get off his case ! 🙄 No disrespect to your dad by any means, but anyone buying into that caliber of rationalization is not someone I would want as a leader. The reason we have investigations and court trials in this world is because we can't just choose what to believe. vernon and top_dollar 2

Correct me if I am wrong but Pascals wager is only a wager of does God exist or not. The outcome of the wager changes significantly if you add in god's besides the Christian God's existence because the opportunity cost of "picking" the wrong god/God has implications beyond "nothing happens" which is the outcome of God doesn't exists in Pascal's Wager. Edit to add: I find it interesting that you say "The reason we have investigations and court trials because we cant just choose what to believe." You know the same could be said for a significant amount of science that you proclaim is malarkey.
fishinwrench Posted December 17, 2019 Posted December 17, 2019 No, as I understand it Pascal's wager is the assumption that you can choose whether or not to believe something, and as long as you pretend to believe, God won't know (or care?) that you actually don't....and you will sneak your way into heaven. It's a con man's thinking error.
