Luckily there is a tremendous abundance of food all around us.  You people in the city are SCREWED.

There are lost of grain silos up here, but there are also lots of guns..... I'd just hunt my timber, lots of deer and turkey.. plus there is always fishing.. Feel bad for those who only know of the local Bodega's or quickie marts! Barter is always a good option.

I might have more deer in my yard than most people have on their farms.  Definitely more rabbits and squirrels.

Not sure if this is the latest pandemic, but I'd rather die than subsist on MRE's again. Been there, done that, wont do again.

You would rather die than eat.  Try not being able to eat.  A cold turd that provides nourishment tastes pretty good.

Radiation killed my ability to eat, and killed my taste.  Amazing what you will do to survive when you have lost a third of your body weight.

Sorry about your loss & pain. The statement was a hyperbole (exaggeration). My Mom’s partner has been through 3 rounds of surgery, radiation & chemo for throat & mouth cancer over the last 8 years. She is 82 and eats through a tube hooked to her stomach. Probably better than an MRE though. The Vomlet and Pork Patty (Sanding Block) were the worst. Supply pogues in the rear always rat forked our MRE boxes. Took the good and replaced with patties & vomlets. Screwed us worse than JoeD back home banging our wives and GF’s. Was darn glad to get fresh hot chow after 6 weeks.

My biggest worry about this is recent reports regarding the incubation period and how long an infected person can communicate the disease before symptoms appear.  Seems it may well be two weeks.  How does screening begin to work if that is correct?

Not very well

No offense, but was just pointing out that a person will eat anything to survive.  my feeding tube went thru the nose, I could smell the crap going in.  It reminded me of a ground feed mix we fed hogs as a kid.  Read the label, sure enough, about the same grain mix.

Read an article the other day, if we survive to 2050, population growth will have us eating bugs to survive.  Conventional farming will not sustain food demands.
