vernon Posted May 5, 2020 Posted May 5, 2020 I'm sure some of you have also been listening with interest as the media bombards us with the latest "crisis" in that there's now going to be a shortage of beef, pork and chicken. Now a quarantine is one thing but if you start messing with my steaks, burgers, chops and dead bird I'm gonna start getting irate. My point here is I'm wondering what if any effect this deal is having on meat availability down y'all's way. Many stores around Kansas City have begun placing limits on the amount of any of the above that one person can buy and I figure it won't take long at all for that stuff to disappear faster than you can say, "Charmin Ultra Soft". Just wondering if we should buy what we can around here to take with us or if we should be able to find ample availability of the good stuff down there. Harter House specifically if Dave or anybody that has visited their meat department recently could chime in. LEAVE MY MEAT ALONE!! Next it's gonna be Coors Light and Basil Hayden's and then the revolution will begin with purpose!😡 magicwormman 1 "Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups." bferg Posted May 6, 2020 Posted May 6, 2020 Based on what I am seeing- it varies by the day as to what is available. If you really want a tomahawk steak and see one where you are you should buy it. It might not be there tomorrow. I haven’t been able to find chicken wings in 2 weeks!
jdmidwest Posted May 6, 2020 Posted May 6, 2020 I see meat every day on the other side of the fence while I am driving. All you have to do is stop and talk to a farmer and he will sell you one on the hoof. Grew up butchering pigs, steers, and chickens. Its not that hard. The only shortage is the major processing main stream stuff. magicwormman and top_dollar 2 "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S.
