Fished with Phil for about an hour this morning.  His thoughts were that not enough rain fell in the basin to put TR dam into a open gate situation.  He thinks TR will have to hit 931 prior to opening any gates.  If the increase is as gradual as it is they can probably handle it with the turbines.  

That is just an educated guess however and at this point TR is not rising fast and it has a foot and a half to go to 931.  4 units are running at 5 PM and no gates.

Since 3 pm Beaver has risen about a 1/4 of an inch and Table Rock about 3/4 of an inch so the rise has slowed down.   Lets just hope we don't get any down pours the next few days, and we will be OK.

At some point in the near future they are gonna have to move the water even if it's slow and steady. We are only about 5 weeks out from Hurricane season and heaven for bid of one hits and the remints move up to the white river basin it could spell disaster if they haven't dropped these lakes fairly significantly in the next month.

Honestly, I think the Corps are sitting pretty close to where they want to be. Maybe just a tic past where they would be most comfortable,  but we are most of the way through the spring rainy season, and they have three full lakes to make power with all summer long. As long as they avoid having to spill, and can just handle inflow with turbine release, they have played it about perfect in their book. 

You still can't tell me that their book is the same as it used to be, and that generation is not a higher priority these days than before. Yes, its downstream flood control first, but if electrons don't figure more into the equation than they used to in the days of deep winter drawdowns, I'll eat the water control plan.

For the record, I'm not even complaining, hydro power is better than coal power in my book. I just wish they would take a bit of that power money and help out the small businesses that are hurt by the high water, and I really wish that when things get away from them, and property is lost like in downtown Branson in the winter of 15-16, that they provide some sort of flood insurance help.

Lack of a winter drawdown pretty much tells the tale. I just wish they'd update some of the accesses to handle the higher levels so folks can still get off the trailer.

Great points.  Between that and the increase in the numbers of  docks and the locations of the commercial docks at the marina faculties,  Winter draw down is now pretty much a thing of the past.  Lots of money and politics involved.
