Is there really any difference, they were all made at the same places.

Johnson and Evinrudes were the same in my little Johnny Rude 9.5 tiller back in the 60's.

Man that sucks...

I have a Merc but grandpa had a 1978 Ozark tri-hull with an 85 HP Evinrude.  The sound of that engine is the soundtrack to my childhood. That thing ran like a top with no issues at all until the transom rotted out of that boat in 2014.  RIP Evinrude.
