Round trip to the blacktop on the dirt road is three miles. Starting at my driveway is a steep hill going down then a longish grade up. That's a half mile. Then other mile is down a bit and levels out then back home in reverse. I was feeling it at the middle and looked at the road back and said to myself. What were you thinking? I did make it back but will be paying the price in the morning. Noting like doing anything slow for me . Up the steep hill I had it in the lowest of the low and was creeping but kept it upright and moving without feet touching the ground. My rear hurts too! I was surprised my heart rate did not get outragious either but when dismounting the bike my legs felt like jelly. I was a bit redfaced, I like the hat, were you pulling a rickshaw behind your bike? snagged in outlet 3 Posted August 13, 2020 Author Posted August 13, 2020 I stand on the peddles all the time. Especially uphill. But my bike has more rake in the front fork than a typical mountain bike.

Protects the BilletHead. Got to going so fast down the steap hill it about blew off. Maybe I need to put the chin strap in the front next time. trythisonemv Posted August 13, 2020 Posted August 13, 2020 We saw one a long time ago at Winchester gap on the niangua. It met its demise Unfortunately by rock . . . Really big one. . . I've been seeing roadrunners where I live the last few years and my father in law says they have come and gone over the last 60 years . snagged in outlet 3 and Johnsfolly 2

I saw my first one in the midwest on the Bufford Cutoff going to Rim Shoals on the White about 25 years ago. Nobody believed me. Now they see them all the time down there. trythisonemv 1
Johnsfolly Posted August 13, 2020 Posted August 13, 2020 I have only seen a dead timber rattlesnake in MO down near Taum Sauk. We would see eastern diamondbacks in FL. The coolest was when we caught a pygmy rattlesnake at the field site I was working at in FL and had it in a trash can for a day. It would buzz when you looked into the can. snagged in outlet 3 1

Cleared three weed-eaters a couple weeks ago. Saving up for a sissy bar! That is funny. And that bike is still the coolest thing on two wheels. ness 1
Flysmallie Posted August 13, 2020 Posted August 13, 2020 My wife is having surgery next week and will be off work 6 to 8 weeks. Said she wanted to start riding her bike while she was off to get in better shape. Said I should too. So I got it out and aired up the tires and cleaned it up and made sure it was in good working order. I made it about 50 yards before I tweaked something in my already bad knee. Looks like the knee replacement surgery that I keep putting off will happen in 2021. snagged in outlet 3, Daryk Campbell Sr and BilletHead 3

Granny gear just makes me wanna sit down. I don't understand how guys use clip-in pedals. Seems those up Stokes would force your butt down. I just use the seat to stabilize myself, I'm not sitting on it. All of my weight is on my feet and arms. I rode clips for years. Keeps your feet sold connected to the pedals. Clipping in/out becomes second nature. I ride platforms now due to the twisting motion to unclip being a bad idea with fake hips. Funny thing. First day I had the felt went riding. Creek crossing about five minutes from the truck. Headed straight across a little pool about 2 feet deep. It was soft gravel and I went over the bars landed in the water with the bike still clipped to my shoes above me. I'm sure a video of it would have gone viral. wily, snagged in outlet 3, Daryk Campbell Sr and 2 others 1 4

Has shimano Deore xt components...was a nice bike in its day...I think it’s still cool...I need to start riding it again. I prefer a road bike...but I let a buddy borrow mine after his knee surgery and haven’t seen it since...kind of a bummer now that I think about it. My Trek is older than yours (nanner). 1990, the regional team I was on won the annual sales contest and we all got a bike. I haven't ridden it much at all, always been a walker, hiker, and runner. Miles and miles of bike trails, off road and concrete in this area, I really need to get out and ride some. First I have to put some air in the tires, and get a helmet. Knees pads too, gotta protect my artificial knee. Daryk Campbell Sr and snagged in outlet 3 2
