If anyone on here has family members who had Covid, please post how they are fairing. I would like to hear from the horses mouth. Daughter, husband and grandson all had it and got well. Said it was a stone female doggy. But they are all well now. Another grandson's GF has it right now. I think she's doing OK. So far, no complications in our family. Bunch of kin is supposed to be quarantined but they are Trumpers so who knows. snagged in outlet 3 1

Gavin Posted October 6, 2020 Posted October 6, 2020 Had to put mom in a home today. She might get COVID and die from it. Her docs should be prosecuted for negligent homocide IMO. Got her med list and she was on 20 meds a day. 79 year old over prescribed junkie. Beware of your doctors, be smart. Terrierman, Mitch f and snagged in outlet 3 1 2

So much of that going on it would make you sick to your stomach. When my dad would take over a nursing home he would meet with the doctors and do a prescription inventory on every patient. He would always find them overly medicated and would give his famous speech to doctors, nurses and staff about how they weren't helping those folks live, they were just making them easier to care for while they wait for them to die. Then he would call families, explain the situation, the changes that would be taking place, and encourage them to visit more often if they could. If you have family in a care center, and they are keeping your old guys/gals heavily sedated and "pain free" instead of getting them up and getting them involved in little activities.....Then please go to the administrator and build a fire under his/her @$$ ! That's not what you are paying them for ! ColdWaterFshr and Daryk Campbell Sr 2

We did that for both of my wife's parents. We just could not take care of them ourselves. You feel impotent about that situation. snagged in outlet 3 1

My Mom did pretty good after dad passed. Many years actually. Then mild dementia set in. We managed that for a time. It got worse. She would forget to eat and if she did could not remember what she ate. Fell often. If I couldn't get her on the phone I instantly got sick to my stomach. Then it was a race to get over there to check on her. Sometimes it was ok as she had lost the phone. Sometimes not. One fall I finally called the ambulance. She spent a few days in hospital and then in rehab home. It was time to make the move. Boy she was mad, really mad. After partially accepting it she began to thrive in assisted living. Now she realizes she cannot go home. She has friends, bingo, Yahtzee, crafts. She is safe, I sleep better at night. They actually get fed well and I take some of my extra garden produce to the cooking staff. snagged in outlet 3, Johnsfolly, Daryk Campbell Sr and 3 others 6 "We have met the enemy and it is us", Pogo If you compete with your fellow anglers, you become their competitor, If you help them you become their friend" Lefty Kreh " Never display your knowledge, you only share it" Lefty Kreh "Eat more bass and there will be more room for walleye to grow!" MOPanfisher Posted October 6, 2020 Posted October 6, 2020 I was extremely lucky, after dad passed in 93 mom was able to live on her own and kept working for many years. It helped that she lived upstairs in an apartment in our house, built for that purpose. Finally about 2016 she began having issues with dementia and it kept getting g worse to the point we had to move her downstairs with us, but she could still stay by herself. Finally after a neighbit found her on the grouND out at the mailbox we quietly made sure someone was always home with her. In the end she was on hospice for over a year. Let me say that the hospice folks are AWESOME, eventually she quit eating and drinking and was comatose. Sister and family all were able to come visit, (she didn't know) and a week later at end of May she passed, with never a single COVID 19 symptom. It was a long road that was hard on us, and our marriage but am glad we were able to go that route. Mitch f and ColdWaterFshr 1 1
