Stupid rules were that the fish had to be caught out of the lake. Well, I fudged the truth a little and said my fish came out of the lake, when in fact it was an 18 smallmouth I caught out of the creek. I thought it was a bigger accomplishment than any old lake fish, so I ran with it. Crazy thing is, I don't think the lake has any smallmouth in it, but no one questioned me. This might have been while fishing directly from the powerhouse dock at Powersite dam. We used to hike up from the park there on the south side of the pothole and go up and over the dam, through the fence that had been pulled back and fish right there.
