I was floored that you could finance a boat for 10-15 yrs. Everything is sold via how much are you looking to spend monthly. It's sick. I opted to buy a Tracker boat and paid it off in one year. No way I would drop $50k or more on a boat. That explains why a lot of used boats were darn nearly the cost of a brand new boats when I was looking to buy. The sellers likely owed that much on the loan.

When I bought the Z521 in 2017 I financed 30K of the 70K that it cost.  The loan was at 4% for FIFTEEN years.

A couple hundred bucks a month.  If I want to pay it down faster I can but if I don't I don't.  

I had no idea that such financing even existed.

At 68 years old it's my last boat and if something age related happens to me it can be easily sold for more than what's owed and if I hang in there in relatively good shape for another ten or twelve years the payments are easily managed.

Never would have considered such an arrangement when I was younger and paid off each of my previous twelve boats in four years or less but as an old guy this seemed like the way to go for me.

Now 225K is a completely different galaxy.......😬

LOZ 2.0 and the popular wake boats...look at it this way it will run fisherman off the lake and reduce harvest🙄

The place we stay at is wake boat central I hate to say. A guy in the boat yard told me $150k minimum entry price and most are easily over $200k. We had 7 in our yard last week at that time.  They start early and stay out late too.

I wonder how much fuel those things go through in a day. I bet it's crazy !

I’ll ask if I see him again.  They are literally on it all day.  His kids are waiting at the dock every morning and they come in with lights on and music blasting in the evening.

About 14 years ago on a smaller 23' malibu we spent an easy $150 a day in fuel.

I used to hope to retire on the lake somewhere, but not any more.

I thought maybe bull would be a good fishery with more economical living, as long as a guy could get above the high water line.

Listening to all the commotion would drive me crazy, I think....crazier.

I'll probably retire at Tablerock.   I'd love to retire near Mountain Home AR but my wife just laughed.  She came from a farm and the closest town only had 630 people.  Tablerock is about as "rural" as I can talk her into.  But I love the Tablerock area even with all of the development and what comes with it.  But I grew up and still live in the burbs.  I like it.
